Headlines: BMA’s Announce Performers, CMT Music Awards Host Announced

“NASHVILLE” STAR CHARLES ESTEN TO HOST “2017 CMT MUSIC AWARDS” – Deacon Claybourne is taking the reins of the loudest night in country music as CMT today announced that “Nashville” star Charles Esten will host the fan-voted “2017 CMT Music Awards,” live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The announcement was made by Esten on Instagram. The news comes on the heels of the beloved music drama, which recently shattered ratings and viewership for CMT, returning with new episodes on Thursday, June 1 at 9pm ET/PT and a new season slated to premiere early next year. Superstars Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett are set to perform with additional artists, presenters and special guests being announced soon. – Read more at CMTPress

‘Voice’ winner Alisan Porter, Broadway star Laura Bell Bundy among PrideFest headliners – “The Voice” winner Alisan Porter, “American Idol” finalist Jessica Sanchez, country and Broadway star Laura Bell Bundy, YouTube gay electropop artist Runaground, gay country artist Brandon Stansell and R&B singer Blu Cantrell and among the performers taking the stage at PrideFest 2017, taking place June 23-25 on Soldiers Memorial. The grand marshal is Cleve Jones, a founding activist in the LGBT rights movement and author of “When We Rise.” The theme this year is “Community Proud.”  Admission this year is $5, which is new to the festival. We had to learn four dances for tonight’s show — which was a little scary — but we might only have to do two. Last week when Heather Morris got eliminated, everyone in the room was just shocked.
