Jena Irene Asciutto drops the music video for her pro-marijuana anthem, “So I Get High.” The American Idol 13 runner-up, who also makes a case for legalization, recently spoke about how weed became a stress-reliever for her anxiety during a stressful Idol run.

“I wanted to capture the vibe of the song with what started off as a lyric video, then turned into a visual that expresses the lyrics and topics of the song,” Jena told Fuse.tv about the inspiration for the video’s minimalistic approach. “I use marijuana for both health and recreational use—and refuse to think that drinking alcoholic beverages is so different—but it depends what you like. It’s the hypocrisy that I’m challenging and I believe it’s time to eliminate the judgement. What works for you may not work for others, but that doesn’t mean either are wrong.”

Jena’s debut album Cold Fame is set to drop on June 2 and follows her debut EP titled Innocence. The singer will be touring the US later this year.
