American Idol’s Scotty McCreery Releases Single “Five More Minutes” May 5

Scotty McCreery wrote “Five More Minutes” two weeks after his paternal grandfather died in 2015.

Finally, the heartfelt song will be released on Friday May 5. The American Idol season 10 winner announced the news via social media on Monday (5/1)

Last summer, the YouTube video of the American Idol season 10 winner performing the heartfelt ballad on the Grand Ole Opry went viral. Scotty’s last single was “Southern Belle” in 2015 before he parted ways with Mercury Nashville, the record label he signed with after winning Idol in 2011. Fans long wait for new music is almost over.

Check out the cover art below. Plus, watch Scotty perform “Five More Minutes” at the Opry. The song has been a staple of the singer’s live shows.
