Blake Shelton Hilariously Trolls the Westboro Baptist Church

I usually avoid acknowledging those crazy effers at the Westboro Baptist Church, even when it’s relevant to the blog. It’s obvious the LGBT-hating clan, that regularly pickets the funerals of dead soldiers,  have a collective screw loose. They thrive on publicity, and it has been my aim to avoid giving it to them.

But OMG. Country star, and The Voice coach,  Blake Shelton has been trolling them on twitter the past couple of days–ever since he found out they planned to picket one of his shows.

The reason–well, WBC don’t need much of a reason to set up a picket. They usually go for high profile opportunities (they planned to picket Cory Monteith’s funeral, for instance). But ostensibly, they’re picketing Blake because he left his wife to be with his current wife, Miranda Lambert. And that makes her a whore…or something.

This post was fun to put together. But I will continue to avoid posting about the group. If the media banded together and pledged to deprive them of attention–which is basically their oxygen–they would eventually go away.
