Billboard – Chart Date 09/17/2016

This week’s Billboard chart is delayed a day because Monday was a holiday. Don’t they have programs that generate most of the content? Do those programs get the day off too?

But, they did find time to release some articles on the Hot 100. “Closer” becomes the first song to sell more than 200K in a week in the last three months. Remember when the digital download numbers used to be the bright spot in the music revenue reports? “Closer” had the best numbers for a group/duo since last summer when One Direction released “Drag Me Down” for 350K.

1 (1) Chainsmokers “Closer” f. Halsey 208K (45%) [#1], 79M AI (31%), 36.8M streams (18%) [#1], 22.9M On-Demand (24%) [#1]
