Happy Wednesday Everyone! :)
We are only five days away from the season premiere of the 23rd edition of Dancing with the Stars. Last week, we were finally told the official cast during Good Morning America. However, unlike in past seasons, we didn’t have a proper full cast reveal on the early morning news program.

Today, GMA will present a pre-premiere party LIVE on the show where the cast will be assembled to discuss the new season. We will finally get a look at the celebrities and their professional dance partners. Aside from some social media photos/videos and the occasional interview a few couples have been doing, we haven’t had the opportunity to see these folks together.

I will live blog the party for you guys, complete with any notable announcements and remarks from the cast. Videos will be added later for your enjoyment. Let’s hope this gets us all excited and pumped for the premiere!

Aww, they are showing the winning moment from last season, where Nyle & Peta were victorious. Back in the studio, some of the professionals are putting on a show for some lucky fans who are in the studio. Fun! The cast seems quite close in the little backstage bits. Ginger Zee (yes, from last season) is having fun with Tom as the cast sits around chatting it up with one another.

And the dance party kicks off with all the pros doing a really great number first inside the studio before they head outside in Times Square. Everyone looks great and how wonderful to see people like Derek, Cheryl, and Gleb back doing what they do best. GMA teasing more surprises to come.

Marilu remarks that her dancing on Taxi was before Derek was even born. She says her autobiographical memory is both a blessing and a curse. Terra is honored to be the first little person ever on the show. She had a child a month ago and says the biggest hurdle is figuring out how this show is going to work for her. Maureen notes that her tv mom, Florence Henderson (who was on the show seasons back) urged her to do it and she was against it at first because she is so scared. Laurie was bribed with cookies as a kid to dance. GMA brings out Simone Biles to surprise Laurie. A big hug between the Olympians. She brought shoes for Laurie. Simone says she would have loved to do the show this season and she is looking forward to being the ballroom to see Laurie perform.

Robin Roberts chats a bit with Tom Bergeron. More interviews to come!

Tom cracks jokes about the GMA setup for these interviews. The pros head off to greet their partners and we get a little dance from each one. Kind of like the thing they do on the show when they first come out on stage at the beginning of each episode. You can’t really judge much from this but I will say that some look really good and others… well, let’s leave it at that. :)

Vanilla Ice says some of his old music videos moves might come into play. Maks comments that Peta is doing amazing with her pregnancy. Some funny workout videos of Derek. LOL. Calvin says he never danced during football because he was so tired. And he wants to prove that he can to his older sister. Amber remarks that nothing about the show is intimidating for her. She does say it is difficult but that Maks is a great teacher. Babyface says his wife and daughter want him to do well. Val hasn’t seen any of Laurie’s robot moves and so, she gets up to show them. Pretty good!

I must say, GMA is highlighting Laurie quite a bit this morning and from the moves she is showing thus far, I think we could be looking at an early favorite. That of course, is what many folks thought going into this. I do hope she has some strong competition though.

James is very serious about this competition. He even has a campaign video out. He jokes with Governor Rick Perry. Rick wants votes for him and Emma. Sasha notes that the height issue will be a challenge but he is inspired.. Jana says she will not be singing. She wants to concentrate on the dancing. Jake wants some of the support from his tv sister, Selena Gomez. Ryan says his grandma is Cuban and he is supposed to have some natural dance ability but… not yet. Cheryl remarks that she is working on his hips.

Time for a dancing through the decades game of boys versus girls. This should be fun. Or awkward. Or both.

Marilu dances some disco, and Emma answers correctly. Laurie next and Rick gets a point for the men for a correct answer. Kudos to the politician for accurately naming a dance move. Vanilla Ice does some running man and the men get another point. And they are running short on time so the men win by default. Okay, so that was pretty useless overall. I would rather they spent that whole segment continuing with the questions/answers from the cast. But I do like how this groups is jiving with one another. They seem to be very excited about the show.

And with that, our pre-premiere party comes to a close. This was an enjoyable morning for me. It was nice to see the entire cast together and hear from them. If the goal was to get us more excited about the season than we were before, consider that a success. Let’s hope it all translates to a fun, exciting, and competitive season from start to finish.

Remember, season twenty-three gets underway this coming Monday, September 12th @ 8 Eastern. I will be here to blog all the fun, put up our first polls of the season, and get the party started. I hope you join me for that and I thank you for watching/reading this morning. Have a good day everyone. :D
