The bad news! Heidi Klum has been out sick from America’s Got Talent, which is currently taping audition episodes at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The good news! Her illness is the common cold, rather than the deadly pandemic version of the coronavirus that has been spreading all over the world.

But regardless, Heidi is not feeling well and she needs to recover. On Wednesday, it was a Modern Family reunion as actor Eric Stonestreet stepped in to take her place. His co-star, Sofia Vergara joined the judges panel this season, alongside Heidi, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel. It’s the second taping that Heidi has missed.

The next scheduled taping is scheduled for Friday, March 13. That is, unless the audience is cancelled.  While a slew of TV productions such as Live with Kelly & Ryan, The View, The Price is Right, Jeopardy!, late night shows, are taping sans studio audiences due to coronavirus concerns, AGT still has tapings listed at On Camera AudiencesThe Kelly Clarkson Show has cancelled her studio audience for the rest of the week (March 12 and 13).

However, with the cancellation of big conventions like SXSW, and festivals Coachella and Stagecoach pushing their events to October over coronavirus fears, it may be inevitable that most TV shows tape in empty studios, at least for the next few weeks.
