Glennis Grace, an alum of the NBC competition reality show America’s Got Talent, was arrested for assault in her home country of the Netherlands.&nbsp

Sources tell TMZ that Glennis, her 15-year-old son Anthony, and another man in their party were arrested and booked on suspicion of assault this weekend after an alleged assault in a supermarket.

The outlet reports from sources that Glennis’ son had an interaction with staff, left, and returned later the same day with his mom and the other man. Police say that’s when a violent confrontation broke out.

Several people were reportedly injured

When it all ended, several people were reportedly injured. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that once the police complete their investigation, they’ll pass their findings on to prosecutors to determine if anyone gets charged.

In the meantime, Glennis and those involved have been released from custody.

Glennis’ attorney says, “The police investigation is still ongoing and we trust that it will show that Glennis has not committed any criminal offenses. We are now waiting for the investigation to be finished before making further announcements.”

Glennis made the finals on AGT in 2018

The big voiced singer made it to the final round of America’s Got Talent season 13 in 2018, and even represented her home country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005.

Grace was born in Amsterdam to a Dutch mother and a father from Curaçao. She was discovered at the age of 15 years after she won the Dutch TV talent show in 1994 called Soundmixshow, where she performed the song “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston.

In her audition, Glennis sang a tribute to Whitney Houston, and received a standing ovation from the judges panel. “I feel like I’m looking at a star already,” said Simon Cowell.

Most recently. Glennis served as a coach on the ill-fated 2022 season of The Voice of Holland. Two episodes aired before the network suspended the show  in the wake of a sexual abuse scandal.

Glennis posted a statement on social media

On Feb. 15, Glennis posted a statement written in Dutch on Instagram, regarding the matter.

“Last Saturday I was arrested after an incident in a supermarket in Amsterdam. I look forward to the investigation, which is still ongoing, with confidence because I know that I have not committed any criminal offences. Although I’d like to say more about this, in the interest of the investigation, I’m keeping my mouth shut for now. I will respond as soon as I can. Love, Glennis.”
