America’s Got Talent 2025 Auditions 6 Recap Live Blog (Videos)
America’s Got Talent continues with Auditions 6 tonight (July 8) as Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and the returning Mel B. take their seats on the panel for the talent show’s 20th season. Terry Crews once again serves as host
The Golden Buzzers are back, of course. All the panelists and Terry can award two buzzers each to acts they feel should advance straight to the live shows. That is 10 buzzers total.
AGT returns to TV after a week long July 4 hiatus.
Anna Saranina – Danger act
Simon recognizes Anna instantly. She’s the female half of Deadly Games. Simon calls the duo one of the best danger acts on the show. The act involved her former husband shooting arrows at her. She explains that they split. She gave up show business to raise her daughter. She cleans houses now, she says. The last five years have been difficult for her.
Now, the tables are turned and Anna is the one behind the arrow. She uses a smaller gun to set off bigger guns. A female assistant is in the danger zone now, as she shoots and hits a moving target. Next she blindfolds herself. After her partner counts eight steps, she turns shoots, and hits the bullseye.
It’s a female empowerment thing, y’all. That was pretty good, though. Her daughter cries in the audience. Anna’s daughter pushed her. Mel B calls her “ultimate girl power.” Sofia calls it sexy and dangerous. Simon suggests she speed up the act. She suggests Simon join her on stage. The audience chants. He looks skeered. She shoots…and she does not miss. “I kind of wanted it to miss,” Mel jokes – 4 yeses
Bay Melnick Virgolino – Kid guitar player
NBC dropped this audition early. The 10 year old guitar player became obsessed with Slash at 5 years old. He’s very nervous. His mom and dad are backstage supporting him. Oh Simon’s son Eric plays drums, and refuses to come play on the show. Good for him!
Bay plays and sing “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz. His singing is very childlike, but his guitar playing is not. He’s a decent little shredder. The audience loves it. He makes all the rock n roll stank faces.
Mel thinks Lenny Kravitz would be proud of him. Howie calls him, amazing and memorable. Sofia dubs him “A little mini tiny little superstar.” Simon says, “You’re so good.” Bay admits that he’s having the time of his life – 4 yeses
Travis Horn Gym tricks
Travis will perform his version of “The Greatest Showman” whatever that means. He strips off his shirt before performing a few gym tricks. The judges are confused. ANd I don’t know what it has to do with the movie? Simon buzzes. His last big involves tires and ropes. Sofia and Howie buzz him.
“You could have just done this this morning at the gym.” Sofia says “it’s not an act.” Simon explains the “oh my God” moment didn’t happen. – 4 nos
Mike Munz – Muscle tricks
He’s a personal trainer from South Florida, or so he says. If he won, he’d like to do something nice for his mom. He strips his shirt off. The mild mannered Mike is pretty ripped. He ripples all of his muscles. Guess that’s his act? He’s a pro at isolation? It’s not much of an act, but it is a pretty good trick. Terry can only do his pelvic muscles. But Mike can manipulate ever muscle on his upper torso.
Simon is impressed and wants to be his client. Sofia calls it surprising. Mel B calls the act, hot, fit and unique. – 4 yeses
Austin Brown – Singer
Look who is back. Who is surprised? Simon and Howie said no after his performance of “When a Man Loves a Woman.” He wouldn’t let him sing another song (SUS!) and directed him to speak with a producer. The show left the situation ambiguous. A viewers who doesn’t usually watch the show might assume that was it. But this bit is a new version of Simon’s “come back later with a new song.” Usually it’s later on the same show.
Anyway, (NBC previewed his audition last week), the popular a cappella group Austin performed in is Home Free, winners of NBC’s SIng-Off season 4. So absolutely this is a bit. In fact, the original song Austin comes back with is all about giving second chances.
The new song is a soaring emotional power ballad, and Austin pours his heart into it. Howie compares Austin to Christopher Cross. He changed his vote to yes. Mel B could feel it. “I liked it a lot. Sofia says, “This is you.” Simon says, “You sounded true to who you are.” He loved the lyric. “You made the right decision – 4 yeses.
Adam Boreland – Dancer
He believes he can be the first solo dancer to win AGT. He hops around the stage to a Spice Girls song until Simon buzzes him. Then Howie. He’s ridiculous. – 4 nos
EDT Dance Team – Kid Dancer
A young dancer named Journey fakes out the panel, presenting herself as a solo dancer. She starts off with acrobatic moves until she’s joined on stage by her fellow dancers. They perform like a sports dance team. They display bold moves alongside kicks, flips and somsaults.
Mel was impressed with their “death drops.” Sofia believes they’ll go far in the competition. Simon calls them a “great dance act.” He loves their youth and determination. – 4 yeses
Gina Bellina & Liliana
It’s a grandmother and granddaughter. Grandma raised her. While Gina was busy raising Liliana, she wrote songs on the side. Now Liliana wants to reveal her songs to the world. Liliana signed Gina up bhind her back.
An entire band joins her on stage, Liliana plays the guitar. The songs are OK. It’s cute grandma stuff. Simon cuts her off. He wants to hear Liliana sing the song. (You know that backing band is hers). The shtick is grandma writes the songs, and grandaughter is the chanteuse who brings them to life. Even though Liliana acts all shy and unprepared, It feels like another fake setup. Grandma can’t really sing, while Liliana is pretty great and well rehearsed.
Mel B says, “It didn’t quite get there for me” Mel meanie is back. 3 yeses, Mel says no.
Yuriyan Retriever – Comic joke act
Yuriayan is back after being buzzed off season 14. She studied AGT to come up with the perfect act. Sure! Last time she “danced with her passion.” Yurian recently moved to Los Angeles from Japan. It’s the “Air Hamster Show.” Since animal acts do well…except air hamster is literal. There is no hamster. She pretends to do tricks with nothing. The buzzes come fast and furious. Except, Howie, who is laughing.
“I don’t know what that was,” says Simon. Howie calls her a brilliant comedian. Mel takes her X back. Sofia and Simon say no, Howie and Mel B say yes. She finishes her act, stripping her wig and clothes off, which she did last time, I guess.
Birmingham Youth Choir – Simon Cowell Golden Buzzer
The choir of kids from BIrmingham and their director say a prayer before taking the AGT stage. When the director was 18, he started the choir thinking it was one off. Ten years later, he’s still at it. He mentions the bombing that killed for little girls in the 60s. Uh oh. Idiots on social media are gonna be screeching DEI any minute now. Kudos to Simon to keep on with the social justice acts.
The group starts off with solo voices as they sing “Joyful, Joyful.” The voices in solo and together are really good. The harmonies are beautifully arranged. The act boasts choreography too. The audience is on their feet. I SMELL A GOLDEN BUZZER COMING.
The director and some of the singers are left in tears at the end. “That was big,” says Simon. “Every single one of you played the perfect part.” And of course, Simon stands and hits the Golden Buzzer. It allows the group a guaranteed spot in the Live Shows.
Gendai – Light dancer
Japan native Gendai’s dream is to perform for the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics. His act involves working with laser lights, playing them like an instrument, manipulating them with his hands. It probably looks really cool live on stage.
Howie notes that it probably doesn’t look amazing at home. But it’s spectacular Mel B, is of course CONFUSED. She looks so dumb. Sofia was in shock. She thinks the act could go anywhere. Simon calls the act incredible and cool. Mel says no. The audience boos. Does Mel mind that her judges remarks make her look stupid? 1 no, 3 yeses.
Next week, American Idol season 11 runner-up, Jessica Sanchez returns to the show where she auditioned as a kid.
