Elderly Brazilian hand balancers Edson & Leon will blow you away with their unexpected strength in this preview from Tuesday’s (July 39) America’s Got Talent preview.
“We want to show it doesn’t matter how old you are,” says 54 year old Edson, the younger of the two. He adds, “You can follow your dreams!” Eighty-four year old Leon insists, “We still got it!”
Edson is dressed as a boy scout (He’s merely middle aged, rather than old af. Heh) and Leon holds a bunch of colorful balloons. To the tune of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” Leon balances on one hand as Edson stands up. Admittedly, Edson is doing all the heavy lifting here. But at one point, Leon keeps his body nearly ramrod strait as he balances atop of Edson. Who could do that at any age, let alone at 84.
It’s a cute and surprising act, but will it impress the judges Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough and Simon Cowell enough that they are chosen as one of 7 acts to advance to the live finals? Tune in on Tuesday July 30 at 8 pm on NBC to find out. Actress Julie Kemper will be the guest judge. She will choose ONE of the 18 acts to advance to the live finals. And, as always, we’ll be live blogging all the performances and results right here.
