Hey everyone, Adam here with my predictions for tonight’s second live results show.

It is just about midnight at the time that I am writing this. I just got home from one of the most craziest days of my summer, and boy do I have a lot to report on. First, unless you were living under a rock, working in a toll booth or reading to the blind, you’ll know that I actually got to attend tonight’s (well, last night’s, I guess since it is midnight) America’s Got Talent live show, and my biggest most important impression: it is a LOT different to watch the show live then at home. For acts like 3 Shades Of Blue and Uzeyer, there was a lot more response and feeling in the air that made the audience react in different ways than viewers watching it at home. With the former of the aforementioned acts in particular, I guess something was wrong with the sound mixing, cause we all heard the words, and I must say, that performance was rocking. In regards to the latter (now I am sounding like Howie), me and a bunch of other people were literally cringing expecting to witness a live death.

Anyway, in addition to getting the cool privilege to meet my substitute Eric, part of the fun (or really, destruction of fun), is that when you go to a live show like the one I attended, a lot of the magic of the show is removed. Last night, Damone Rippy, Freckled Sky and Ira were all pre-taped, with the first 2 being done way before I even walked into Radio City. Another thing,  the warm up comic guy was as annoying as people working at the DMV (yeah, I went there), but I digress. That warm up guy deserves a rant of his own, but now is not the time.

Another thing that really stood out to me: every commercial break, a small army would get up to the judges and fiddle with their hair and apply makeup and touchups as needed. It was really bizarre to watch, none more so then how much attention Howard Stern’s hair received. I kinda wish I had a makeup crew to fix my hair every 7 minutes…

I think I am rambling a little. It is hard to get my thoughts straight after my third Mike’s Hard Lemonade…. or was it my fourth? Anyway, on to the freaking predictions. First off though, I have to say this one is a close one and will be hard to call. I don’t really expect my predictions to be right, so just take my analysis for what it is.

I’d Eat My Computer If They Don’t Advance

1- Uzeyer– Not gonna lie, watching this live and seeing him mess up his first trick, I was cowering. truly expecting him to fall to his doom on the 18 foot ladder. As it turns out, my worries were in vain, as the circus performer not only managed to pull off his trick, but he also made me forget he messed up before. The only thing I have to say is I have no idea how he possibly could top this performance.

2- Sharon Irving– If I was an America’s Got Talent judge (not Howie), this would be when I brace for the boos I am about to get. Personally, I didn’t enjoy her performance that much. For America’s Got Talent standards, I guess it was okay, but if this was American Idol, I would have been convinced she was fodder. Sharon has a great voice, don’t get me wrong, it is just for a singer the performance just didn’t hold my attention really. However, despite my opinion, the pimp spot and standing ovation makes her a lock, but I can’t help feeling it will only be so she can get saddled with an uptempo song next time so she can be fodder.

Likely Going To Advance

1- The CraigLewis Band– While “Try A Little Tenderness” has been ingrained in my mind as a Clark Beckham song (that “you got to go-go-got” moment did it), with the reception these guys got from the judges and from what I’m seeing online, these guys should sail on.

2- Arielle Baril– Arielle was a few of my family member’s favorite, and I can’t blame them. While for me she is settled neatly in 4th-5th place, I simply loved her tone and innocence. It was kind of like watching a child walk for the first time, and I think she did a fantastic job. Yes, as Eric pointed out she got drowned out a little at the end, but still I think Arielle should and will advance. If it comes down to her needing the Snapple whatever save (or was it Starbucks), she should win that handily.

3- Freckled Sky– If these guys don’t move on tonight…. riots. Yes, it wasn’t as great as their audition, but COME ON! If Ira makes it over them I will be furious. The only disappointing thing about their performance, for me, was that it was pre-taped and I didn’t really get to seem them perform live. I also feel compelled to add this last note, I really worry about these guys should they win. For me, watching them perform is such an adrenaline rush, that I worry that their act’s novelty of how incredible they are will start to wear off in an hour long show. Maybe I am just looking too far into it.

Heading Home On The Bus Of Shame

1- Ira– Ok, I have to admit, even though I have trashed Ira all season long, I still…. kinda enjoyed his performance. Maybe it was the song. That said, he is still going home though.

2- Damone Rippy– When I was leaving the theater, I was shocked to find my younger cousin obsessed with Damone! For her, it was all about the looks, and while this highlights my frustration with today’s generation, it has me worried that Damone might just squeak by. However, on a night with such great talent, justice will be served with us saying goodbye to Mr. Rippy tomorrow.

3- Animation Crew– Whelp, I don’t think I have ever seen an act on AGT who got a buzzer still advance, so I think their fates are sealed.

4- Myq Kaplan– Sorry Eric, I didn’t enjoy his act tonight. Myq was speeding through his comic material faster than me when I see a Chinese buffet. None of his jokes really landed, and with the judges mimicking what I was thinking, I think he is heading home.

Could Go Either Way

1- DM Nation– Ugh. I loved these girls so much, but with their death slot performance and some harsh critiques of their dance routine from the judges I think they have a big chance of going home. If they do stick around, they need to incorporate more acrobatics and throws. These girls were missing a kicker move, and without it, the whole thing kind of fell apart.

2- Derek Hughes – I did not like this magician at all last night, but my family, especially the kids, were LOVING him. I’m not quite sure if he is going to advance outright, and while frankly I wouldn’t mind losing him, I can’t say outright that he is going to go home.

3- 3 Shades Of Blue – Ok, first off, I have heard in the past that bands are not allowed to chose their songs. Rather, the producers hand them a single one and basically say “good luck with that.” For these guys, Chains was all the wrong song, but I don’t hold it against the band at all. In the audience, these guys put on a show and I felt like I was at a concert! I loved them, but I am seeing mixed reactions, particularly in the sound, so there is a chance they might be in danger.

Should Go Through:
1- Uzeyer
2- Sharon Irving
3- Arielle Baril
4- The CraigLewis Band
5- 3 Shades Of Blue
6- DM Nation
7- Freckled Sky

Will Go Through
1- Uzeyer
2- Sharon Irving
3- Arielle Baril
4- The CraigLewis Band
5- Freckled Sky
6- Derek Hughes
7- 3 Shades Of Blue
