NUNN ON ONE: MUSIC Jordin Sparks: On ’90s music, looking fit, new CD – The sound is different for this album. How do you describe it? – JS: I would say it is pretty music with a bump to it. The sound was very inspired by ’90s R&B like Mariah, Whitney, Babyface, Boys II Men, Brandy—all of those amazing artists. You will hear a lot of that on the record. I grew up listening to their music. I was a ’90s kid and always loved it. It is an amazing opportunity to sing what I love, not to say that Battlefield and my first record I didn’t love but I can now create focus and control to make things the way I want to sound. I can say what I want to say and I feel like I am coming into my own. I feel I have finally put out a complete piece of work. – Read the rest of the interview with Jordin at Windy City Media Group

Travis Wall on the routine we didn’t get to see – JJ couldn’t dance due to injury, and then was eliminated after having the lowest number of votes. Here’s what Travis had to say about what we missed: “JJ was supposed to have contemporary with Sonya. I saw the rehearsal package. That number would have been incredible, and I’m so upset that she was hurt. She was hurt the week before — she fractured a rib, but she didn’t really say anything, because she was afraid to complain about her injury. But it got worse and worse, so she finally went to the doctor, who said, “You’ve fractured your rib. You can’t dance.” So it was really sad to see her leave the competition like that, and she didn’t get the opportunity to do that duet that Sonya choreographed for her.” – Read Travis’ mentor blog at Entertainment Weekly
