Lauren Alaina sat down with Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Jerry O’Connell on Monday’s (Jan 27) Today show to talk about her journey from being a contestant on American Idol to launching her first headlining tour. The singer, who competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2019, has sold out every show so far.
The tour, titled “That Girl Is Me” is based on a line from her song “Three,” that goes “Little girl with a dream/That girl was me.” A video screen behind her plays home videos of Lauren singing. “Every night when I’m on stage I turn around and look at that screen and it just makes me emotional.”
The good news for Lauren’s fans–she will be releasing a new EP on March 6, “so that everybody has access” to the new songs Lauren has been singing live.
“I have been singing new songs on the road that aren’t yet released,” Lauren told Today. “I’m working on my third album- it’s not finished yet, but I decided the songs we’re doing live, I’m going to put on an EP!”
