American Idol season 10 alum Lauren Alaina is still a contestant on Dancing with the Stars after seven weeks of competition. Her Halloween week Argentine Tango with pro partner Gleb Savchenko earned the pair 3 nines for a score of 27 out of thirty. The country singer was able to wow the judges despite several injuries to her ribs.

After the couple danced to “Whatever Lola Wants” by Sarah Vaughan, judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli raved, even though Lauren slipped during a lift. Carrie complimented her ability to stay in character, making most of a mistake.

But, while the couple were waiting for their scores, Lauren admitted, “I have four hurt ribs.”

“When [Carrie Ann] said my core looked strong I looked straight at Gleb because all I have been trying to do is pretend my ribs aren’t broken this whole competition,” Lauren continued. “I fractured the one on the left the first week of the show and I haven’t had these X-rayed, but they don’t feel great.”

Gleb gushed over Lauren’s determination to push through the pain. “She’s so strong. I’m so proud that she got through it,” he said. “We had a tough week and I’m really proud of you. You did a great job.”
