American Idol winner and Louisiana native, Laine Hardy performed the National Anthem ahead of the New Orleans Saints vs Minnesota Vikings matchup for the NFL Wildcard on Sunday, Jan. 5. Sadly for Saints fans, the Vikings won the game 26-20, which took place at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

“Laine will be singing the national anthem. He’s a little nervous (please say a prayer for him ) but I just know he will be great,” Laine’s mother, Cindy Hardy, told WAFB before the game.  The station noted that she is listed as one of Laine’s managers.
