American Idol’s Jimmie Allen, Grace Kinstler Tease Duet (Audio)

Jimmie Allen and Grace Kinstler

What’s going on between American Idol alums Jimmie Allen and Grace Kinstler? Songwriter and producer, Cameron Bedell, posted an intriguing Instagram video, teasing a collaboration between the country singer and the pop diva. The new duet is called “What You Been Through.” Listen to it below.

“When you’re sleeping but Jimmie Allen and Grace Kinstler need you in the studio” a caption reads as Cameron seemingly wakes up from a nap. As he rushes through hallways, the caption says, “This is why I love the Sunset Marquis in LA.” Because he can walk to the studio, presumably.

He bursts through the door of the “famous Nightbird Studios” finding Jimmie and Grace in separate sound rooms recording a song. A tiny snip of the song plays, as Grace sings in her booth. “We here!” declares Jimmie.

“POV: life of a songwriter,” Cameron writes alongside the video. Again presumably, Jimmie and Grace are performing a song that Cameron wrote or co-wrote.

Grace Kinstler killing it on Tik Tok

Grace and Jimmie likely met for the first time when he performed as a celebrity duet partner on her American Idol season 19 in 2021. Jimmie performed with Cecil Ray and Alanis Sophia. However, Grace performed with Joss Stone on the same night. Plenty of time to meet backstage!

The 2021 American Idol runner-up lives in Los Angeles and has been working in the studio with Alessia Cara’s team. While she records, she’s made her mark on social media. Several of her Tik Tok clips have gone viral. For instance, her “Say A Little Prayer” riff challenge has 6.4 million views! “Only Love Can Hurt Like This,” another clip that demonstrates her dextrous runs has 2.4 million views. Many of her clips have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. She currently has over 339.7K Followers on the popular platform.

Jimmie ready to go out on tour with Carrie Underwood

Jimmie recently released his third studio album, Tulip Drive and is getting ready to go out on tour with Carrie Underwood in October. He served as a Top 24 mentor on American Idol season 20 earlier this year. He also performed at the CMA Festival in Nashville back in June and invited winner Noah Thompson and runner-up HunterGirl to share the stage with him. He’s been very generous and helpful to American Idol alums. And he only finished in the Top 40, his season 10.

Cameron Bedell is ALSO an American Idol alum!

As for Cameron Bedell? He is also an American Idol alum! He auditioned in Nashville for season 14 with “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. He advanced to Hollywood with 3 yresses, but was cut sometime during the round. Check out his audition HERE.

These days Cameron works as a producer and songwriter. He co-wrote Lauren Alaina’s “Change My Mind” from her album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World. He also co-wrote Jimmie’s emotional “Down Home,” which the singer describes as “probably one of the most special songs I’ve every written.” “I wrote it about my father. Hopefully he’s in heaven and looking down on everything I’m doing and hope he’d be proud of me.”
