American Idol alum Gabby Barrett releases “Cowboy Back” inspired by husband Cade Foehner

Gabby Barrett celebrates men she considers stand-up guys with strong values and rock-solid hearts with her new track, “Cowboy Back.” A Warner Music Nashville release, available across all streaming platforms and digital retailers, the anthem was written by the American Idol season 16 alum with Jon Nite and Jesse Frasure, and once again finds the multi-platinum singer championing classic romance.

“I was inspired by my wonderful husband, a Texan, when I was writing this one,” shares Barrett. “‘Cowboy Back’ is all about appreciating the hardworking guys out there with strong values – those who are authentically ‘country.’” Gabby is married to fellow American Idol contestant, Cade Foehner. The couple are currently expecting a third child, a baby girl who will join son Augustine Boone, whom they welcomed in October 2022, and daughter Baylah May born in January 2021.

Serving as co-producer on “Cowboy Back” with Ross Copperman, Gabby continues to take a leading role in all aspects of her new music. Together, they infuse the midtempo song with a blend of then and now – channeling their inner Shania Twain with a buzzing fiddle melody wrapping around the modern production, while Gabby’s vocal displays easy confidence.

Gabby Barrett begins a new era

Arriving as the second release off her forthcoming sophomore album, “Cowboy Back” follows Gabby’s current Top 30-and-climbing single, “Glory Days,” while her new creative chapter unfolds. After spending the summer performing select dates on tour with Kane Brown, the country singer is credited as co-writer and co-producer on both new releases.

Surpassing 2.8 BILLION global career streams, Gabby premieres her sophomore album with new releases “Glory Days” and “Cowboy Back.” Platinum “Pick Me Up” off the DELUXE version of her top-streaming PLATINUM album, Goldmine, followed mega breakout 7X PLATINUM #1 “I Hope”; 4-week Hot AC #1 crossover “I Hope (feat. Charlie Puth)”; and 3X PLATINUM three-week #1 “The Good Ones.” Ruling the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for a record-breaking 27 weeks, “I Hope” was the first debut single by a solo female artist to top the Country radio charts since 2017 and made her the youngest artist with a #1 debut at Country radio in over two decades.
