American Idol alum Casey Bishop teases yet another new song. The teen rock singer writes on Instagram alongside a clip, “‘Bad Dream” demooo. “I’M SO EXCITED YOU GUYSSS.”

The Estero, Florida native posted a video of herself lip-syncing to the “Bad Dream” track. The lyrics go: “Is this a bad dream?/Don’t know what is happening/everytime I think of you it’s so paralyzing/and I’m trying to wake up.”

Casey dramatically mimes the song wearing a dark blue hoodie with her hair in a long braid. The tease follows her previous  preview of  the bass driven tune “Kerosene.”

The rocker, who finished fourth on American Idol in 2021 behind Grace KinstlerWillie Spence and winner Chayce Beckham, respectively, is busy at work writing and recording her debut EP after signing a record deal with 19 Recordings/BMG.

Last year, Casey traveled to Los Angeles for writing and recording sessions with producer/singer-songwriter Chris Greatti’s in his home studio.

New music is coming, Casey promises

On Feb 22, 2022, a palindrome many folks found auspicious,  Casey wrote on Instagram:

“Happy 2/22/22! Today is a mirroring date meaning everything you put out, will come back to you,” Casey wrote. “This entire day is a reminder to stop worrying & to start letting go of your doubts and fears because you are exactly where you need to be at this moment. Everything is working out in your favor. Radiate good energy, stay focused & trust the process.”

Casey finished her message with a promise: “GOOD THINGS ARE COMING (new music is also coming)”

Two music teases in a row is a good sign that the EP she’s talked about in interviews could be just around the corner.

According to the singer’s hometown newspaper, the News-Press, Casey started writing songs with Greatti, who also worked with Yungblud and Blink 182, the day after the American Idol finale in May. “Then I just kept going back and forth over there [to Los Angeles],” she said, “and we just keep on writing bangers.” Casey was known for her big voiced renditions of classic and heavy metal rock songs.

She describes the new songs she is writing as rock and alternative rock. The songs have an angry and aggressive overtone says Casey, after being inspired by a past romantic breakup.
