American Idol’s Arthur Gunn FINALLY Releases Coronation Single

American Idol’s Arthur Gunn Finally Releases Coronation Single

Look who got their hacked Instagram account back. AND Hollywood Records/19 FINALLY released his coronation song! American Idol season 18 runner-up Arthur Gunn spilled the good news on Instagram. His account had been out of commision since June 2.

“You must have all known by now. My rendition of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by “Creedence Clearwater Revival” is out on all the platforms out there,” writes Arthur “So don’t forget to stream it when you can. It was long awaited. I am honored that I was able to do this rendition and have it out there for you all to listen. I want to thank every single person who made this possible!!!” Arthur continued, “Good things are in the store!!! Once again, thank you for all of you who have been streaming the single, i appreciate you all for that.”

Each of the American Idol Top 5 released a coronation single. Because the coronavirus shutdown made it difficult to enter the studio, each of the finalists picked an encore song to perform, followed by a release of the live recording. While the winner, Just Sam, released her single, Andra Day’s “Rise Up” the day after the May 17 finale, Francisco Martin, Jonny West and Dillon James released their singles on June 1.

For a reason still unknown, The release of Arthur’s radically reimagined cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” got held up until June 12. “I have requested to the authorized people to release it.” Arthur wrote last week, “Don’t get mad at me if it doesn’t get released, I’m not authorized person for that.”

Arthur gets his Instagram account back

Making the situation even worse–Arthur lost control of his Instagram account to hackers. But all seems to be well now, with Arthur’s posts decidedly more upbeat than the last time we heard from him.

Check out the stream at Spotify. It’s also available on Apple, Amazon and more.

On Thursday, Arthur posted for the first time since the hack: “Rise & Shine! I got my access back to Instagram. I want to say thank you all for being so supportive, I saw some of you all shared that I didn’t have access to my Instagram, so that really helped. Anyway, we’re back again. And surprises are on the way!!!”
