A source tells Entertainment Weekly that “no deals have fallen apart due to unreasonable demands.”
The Idol insider staunchly refused to name names, but said that even the most A-list of potential replacements for Simon Cowell’s job have been “really gracious. This is an extremely high-profile gig, and you’d better believe no one — male or female — has been unreasonable at the negotiating table.”
EW’s source speculates that the “insiders” spreading rumors about Jennifer Lopez’s deal falling through due to her unreasonable demands could be the reps of rival candidates who are also vying for that lucrative seat on the judges’ panel.
“Don’t believe everything you read, ” cautioned the Idol insider. “This may simply be a case of one diva’s rep slinging mud to make another potential candidate look like a diva.”
That was pretty much the point I was making earlier today when I posted the Shania Twain rumors. So many agenda’s at work here, the rumors are going to come fast and furious until the official announcements are made.
But a little warning: fan fatigue is already setting in. Each new breathless announcement of the latest rumor is met with less and less enthusiasm. If this keeps up, by the time the actuall announcements are made? Peeps are going to be underwhelmed.
