American Idol Judge Katy Perry Drops “Small Talk” Lyric Video

Katy Perry Dark Horse Lawsuit

American Idol judge Katy Perry has dropped her highly anticipated new single “Small Talk.” Produced by Charlie Puth and Johan Carlsson, the song details the aftermath of a bitter breakup in which the singer reminisces over intimate times with an ex-lover.

“Small Talk” comes on the heels of her single “Never Really Over,” which debuted in June and hit No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. In March, Katie joined forces with Zedd for the futuristic “365.” All three singles are expected to appear on her fifth studio album.

American Idol: Lionel Richie Won’t Return Without Katy Perry

Earlier this week, ABC/Disney announced that Katy, along with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, are returning to the judges table for a 3rd season of American Idol. When the network announced the renewal of the veteran singing show back in May, there was speculation that cost concerns would lead to less expensive talent filling the judges roles. But somehow, ABC coughed up the dough. No word if Katy’s purported $25 million dollar salary was cut.
