American Idol: Jay Copeland, Christian Guardino Tease New Songs

Despite leaving the American Idol season 20  competition at the Top 7, Christian Guardino and Jay Copeland both recorded original songs along with the Top 5–Fritz Hager, Noah Thompson, Nicolina Bozzo, HunterGirl and Leah Marlene.

The single are set to drop on Friday, May 13. But each of the Top 7 are teasing their singles ahead of their official release. Fans can pre-save the songs at their favorite streaming and download sites now.

Jay Copeland calls his new single “Unlonely” a “bop”

Jay Copeland, one of three auditioners awarded  “Platinum Ticket” told Billboard after his elimination: “I’m feeling great. I don’t think we have anything to be disappointed about. It’s been an amazing experience. Over 100,000 people auditioned for this show. We made it to the top 7. Seven in the entire country and that’s crazy to think about.”

Jay who performs silky soul songs and danceable r&B, earned his Platinum ticket in Austin, which gave him special perks at the Hollywood Round.

“I’m sending nothing but love to every single one of you,” Jay wrote on Instagram after his elimination. “Stay tuned for my single “Unlonely” releasing this Friday!! It’s a Bop! Here’s to summer and new beginnings.”

Christian Guardino drops his single “Higher”

“My new single “HIGHER” coming out THIS FRIDAY??” Christian wrote on Instagram. “I got to work with producer @dannyboystylesxo and what an incredible honor. It was [fire].” He added, “I’m so excited about this song and I can’t wait to share it with you all!!!”

DannyBoyStyles produced all 10 tracks on The Weeknd’s album Kiss Land in 2013 and won a Grammy for his work on the Weeknd’s follow-up Beauty Behind the Madness

The soulful gospel-voiced Christian got his first taste of talent shows as an America’s Got Talent contestant in 2017. 

After one of his Top 10 performances, Michael Buble sent a video in which he asked the singer to duet with him on the finale. Christian has much to look forward to.
