Cecil’s girlfriend accuses him of cheating on her and domestically abusing her. At one point in the TIk Tok clip, she flashes an injury on her forehead. She also filmed him calling her names, and she shows a text message convo with him about the cheating.
It’s not clear what happened here, exactly. The girlfriend also claims in the video comments that she filed a restraining order against Cecil. Also, the girlfriend claims the family would take a day to spring him, but according to the police report, he was released shortly after he was arrested.

Cecil Ray was an inexperienced country singer who charmed the judges at his audition with his sincerity. His backstory revolved around his daughter. Because he grew up poor himself, he wanted to make a better life for her. Watch his audition HERE.
Cecil left the competition last week when the Top 24 became the Top 16 based on America’s Vote. The episode aired on Sunday April 11, but filmed a few days earlier, after which, Cecil headed back to Texas.
For his Top 24 performances, which aired on Sunday April 4, the country singer sang a solo of Tracy Lawrence’s “Paint Me a Birmingham” and a duet with Jimmie Allen. In their video package, Jimmie gave Cecil his phone number, urging him to call anytime for advice. I wonder if Jimmie will take Cecil’s call now.
