A newly blonde Katharine McPhee twitters excitedly about her upcoming single, debuting next week, “My brand new single, Had It All, debuts in 5 days!” That’s Tuesday August 25, so mark your calendar. No deets yet on how “Had it All” will be unveiled, but Kat says to stay tuned. She shot the music video yesterday, 8/19… ETA: Kara DioGuardi sings a song by the same name HERE. She wrote it with David Hodges. It’s possibly Katharine’s single.

Also unveiling new music next week? Phil Stacey who is set to release his second album, a Christian/Gospel effort, Into The Light, on Tuesday August 25. Phil has a brand-new website HERE. He’ll be celebrating the release at a concert Friday at Westlink Christian Church, in Witchita, KS.

Ruben Studdard will try his hand at film acting when he takes on the role of a minister in the first independent film project to qualify for financial incentives from the Alabama Film Office. The film, Lifted, began shooting on 8/17. Ruben plays a minister who befriends Henry, the lead character.

Elliott Yamin recently cut some performances for LiveDaily.com. Watch him sing sweet acoustic versions of “Fight For Love” and “Know Better” from his latest album Fight For Love plus his hit single, “Wait For You.”   Check it out HERE. Incredible performances–click the link, you won’t be sorry.

Season 3 runner-up, Diana DeGarmo recently began a run in the Off-Broadway musical, Toxic Avenger.   Check out clips from the show and a short interview with FOX 5 HERE.

President Obama joins Kelly Clarkson and LeBron James for the 30 minute special, Get Schooled: You have the Right, presented by Viacom.   The special, set for September 8 at 8 pm and will air on all Viacom stations, including, BET, MTV, VH1, CMT, COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and Nickelodeon.   The documentary promotes education, and is sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. David Archuleta is leaving the road sooner than he planned.   Disney canceled the last 3 shows of his tour opening for Demi Lavato, due to the always mysterious “scheduling conflicts.”   But don’t worry, the shows scheduled for Atlantic City, Providence RI and Manchester NH have been rescheduled for late October.
