To all the Idols who are no longer bound by the long arm of 19! Happy Freedom Day!
Today is the day that all Top 36 finalists who were not signed by 19–and that would be everyone except Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta–are no longer under contract to 19E.
Both Anoop Desai and Scott MacIntrye told me on Press Day Wednesday that their contracts were ending on August 20.
The Idols are now free to go out into the world and forge their individual destinies, without the interference and oversight of TPTB.
