American Idol 2024 emotional hometown visits: Watch clips from Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley head back home

On the American Idol finale airing Sunday (May 19). Fans will see clips of the Top 3 finalists visiting their hometowns in what has become the traditional “hero’s welcome” before the show crowns a winner. Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley visited Indio, California, Dallas, Texas and Hazlehurst, Georgia respectively.

At home, they all visited the special places that shaped their lives. The day ended with a parade and concert. Each singer was feted by local town dignitaries. It’s a special day to remember for the rest of their lives.

Abi Carter – Indio, California

According to news reports, Abi visited the corner in Palm Springs where she used to perform during Villagefest. As a crowd cheered “Abi! Abi!” Carter said, “I’m so proud to be here. I’m so thankful. … I don’t think this could have been a better way to come home. I think no matter what happens, this is so much more rewarding than winning could ever be.” Abi also visited the George Washington Charter School in Palm Desert where she attended high school.

Jack Blocker – Dallas, Texas

With the downtown Dallas skyline as a backdrop, reports Culture Map, more than 2,000 North Texas fans cheered on the “Blocker Hometown Hero Concert.” The performance took place at the outdoor Annette Strauss Square at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Will Mosely – Hazlehurst, Georgia

Hazlehurst hosted a parade for Will Moseley. Family, friends and hundreds of fans lined Tallahassee Street and cheered for him to win the singing contest on national television, reports WJCL.

The parade included a police escort, along with the mascot from his alma mater Georgia Southern University. Will rode in a convertible, waving to supporters, holding signs with his picture to show support. The former Jeff Davis High School graduate and football player jumped out of the car to hug his mother, brother and dog named Clyde. “This town is special to me. I love everybody here. Everybody here has shown some form of love and support. I couldn’t be more appreciative of them,” said Will.

Will also performed for hundreds of people in his hometown, WSAV reports. “Words don’t describe how I feel to just see the love and support,” said will. “Being a kid like me from a small town, I am just blessed- that’s all I can say, I am just blessed.” Check out photos from his parade route at Savannah Morning News.
