American Idol Heads back to Hawaii
On Friday (Jan 24) Disney Parks made the official announcement that ABC’s American Idol will return once again to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa to film its Showcase Round. We knew this already, because On Camera Audiences have been advertising the tapings on their website.
The American Idol On Camera Audience page states: “American Idol is filming at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa on Friday, January 31st! The TOP 40 will perform LIVE and you can be in the audience… FOR FREE!” The show is filming two sessions, at 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm. If you’re in Hawaii, or plan to be there, click this link to apply for tickets.
Naturally, the entire gang will be there, including judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. Host Ryan Seacrest and in-house mentor, Bobby Bones will also be on hand. The Top 40 hit the island for the first time last season, where they performed songs of their own choosing on an outdoor stage. Afterward, the judges/producers whittled the field down to a Top 20.
American Idol Hollywood Week Spoilers Plus New Twists
After a gruelling Hollywood Week, the judges/producers chose the Top 40. We have a list of dozens of contestants, with links to social media, who made it to the end of the week. The Top 40 come from this larger group of 60-70 contestants.
ABC’s 3rd season of American Idol (Season 18) begins Sunday, February 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST). The 2020 season start is extra early this year, because the Oscar telecast set for February 9 is extra early. Monday shows begin on March 16 and will run through April 6.
Watch out for TWISTS, such as head to head duets on Hollywood Week and EARLIER VOTING. Hooray.
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa “is nestled in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i, a respite from the busy and frequently visited locations of other Hawai‘i destinations. It’s a place where guests can connect to nature and the culture of Hawai‘i. The Walt Disney Imagineers worked in partnership with local artisans and cultural experts to create Aulani when the resort was originally built among 21 oceanfront acres.”
