ABC posted a cute American Idol promo over the weekend. The college football themed clip has Katy Perry ambushing her fellow judge Luke Bryan with football throws while yelling “ROLL TIDE!”
OK. I figured this out! “Roll tide” is the battle cry of the University of Alabama football team. Alabama played Georgia over the weekend and beat them pretty soundly (41-24!). As a Georgia native, Luke could not have been very happy about that. So, IN YOUR FACE LUKE ROLL TIDE!

In any case, the promo offers a fun behind the scenes look at the American Idol judges auditions going on now in San Diego and a couple of other California cities. There will be no cross country travel this season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
