American Idol 14 Top 9 Poll Results and Predictions

On American Idol 14 tonight, Original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, mentors the contestants as they take on her songbook. The Top 7 perform for your votes. In a brand new “twist,” the bottom 2 will sing for YOUR TWITTER VOTE. YOU get to decide who goes home in real time. Aren’t you excited? The twist could change the dynamic of the entire competition. Certainly, if a favorite like Jax ends up in the bottom, her fans will rally to save her.

Here are the results of last week’s polls, and I will attempt to predict the bottom 2, and the singer who eventually goes home.

That Clark Beckham is at the top of the performance poll is no surprise at all. His acoustic “Every Breath You Take” last week was a highlight. But Rayvon Owen in second place? That’s curious, as many of you also believe he’s going home! There is a wide margin between Clark and Everybody Else. Rayvon, Quentin and Jax are bunched up together in the teens. Daniel (??!!?) and Nick sit at 6-8% and the rest languish at the bottom.

Fifty percent of you think Daniel Seavey SHOULD go home this week. I expect him to sweep this poll week in and week out until he is finally eliminated. Rayvon Owen and Qaasim Middleton sit atop the WILL be going home poll. That brings me to my (probably crap) prediction for this week:

Bottom 2: Rayvon Owen, Qaasim Middleton
Twitter voted home: This is going to depend on the performances. Qaasim will pull out all the stops with “Stronger” and will be saved. I don’t even want to think about Rayvon singing “Since U Been Gone.”
