American Idol 10 Top 6 – Power List!

Scotty drops down to the #2 spot on this week’s power list!  He may win anyway, but his refusal to change things up is holding him back

It seems that the producers are pimping Scotty/Lauren pretty hard, but I don’t think we’ll have an all-teen, all-country final two. Vote splitting will eliminate either contestant before they get that far. And thank Jeebus–a Scotty/Lauren finale would be the most boring in Idol history.

No, I think we’ll probably get a James/Scotty final or maybe a Lauren/James final, if Lauren can get her confidence together in the next few weeks.

I still don’t have a favorite, and will probably get through the entire season not caring who wins–a first for me. However, I am beginning to develop an appreciation for Haley and would like to see her go as far as possible. Would be perfectly satisfied if she outlasted Casey, Jacob or Lauren, but I don’t think it’s possible for her to outlast Scotty or James.

Check out my list after the jump. What’s yours?

  1. James Durbin – James takes the #1 spot this week for the first time.  The judges have a soft spot for him and I suspect Idol viewers do as well.  James is the only Idol left who seems to realize he’s on TV–he turns his 1 minute and 30 seconds into  attention-grabbing spectacle. Love him or hate him, he’s not boring.
  2. Scotty McCreery – Speaking of boring…Scotty falls down the list for refusing to leave his box.  Despite his obvious charisma, he’s yet to have a defining moment on Idol. He may win anyway, but if Scotty had a moment with a tune nobody was expecting, he’d have this thing sewn up.
  3. Lauren Alaina –  The girl has completely lost her mojo.  She’ll be lucky to make it to 3rd place if she doesn’t get it back.  Girl’s got talent, but no confidence, unfortunately.
  4. Casey Abrams –  Casey needs to get back to performing  jazz/blues stat.  Even stunts like kissing Jlo won’t save him if he’s growling lyrics and pulling weird faces.
  5. Haley Reinhart –  Was Haley Reinhart really in the B3 last week? Ryan called her to center stage, and immediately sent her back to the couches with out announcing she was actually in the B3.  Hm.  Haley could outlast Casey Abrams at this point. I will be surprised if she lasts longer than Lauren, Scotty or James, however.
  6. Jacob Lusk – If Jacob takes Randy’s advice this week, and “lets go”, he’ll be a definite goner.
