Alejandro Aranda Stays Creative Amid Mental Health Struggles

Alejandro Aranda, who goes by the moniker Scarypoolparty has been quiet in 2022 so far. But the American Idol season 17 runner-up promises new music soon. Although he hasn’t dropped an official recording since 2021, when he dropped both a double-album length set, The Act of Forgiveness, and a 4 song EP Los Angeles, the singer regularly posts music on his social media accounts.

However, the indie singer-songwriter has also been sharing honest posts regarding his mental health struggles.

“My anxiety has been really taking control of my mental health”

“Been super stressed out lately,” Alejandro confessed on Instagram. “And my anxiety has been really taking control of my mental health. But trying hard to keep it together And keeping a healthy outlook on everything.” He added, “Sending only positive vibes.”

Later, he posted, “Y’all are the kindest people. Seriously.Im trying to be more open to share real stuff with you guys, And y’all are so positive it’s legit the best thing in the world,” he wrote. “i still struggle with my anxiety and sometimes don’t know how to handle, But knowing I’m not alone makes everything feel like it’s gonna be okay.” Alejandro gifted his fans a surprising song. “Here is a cover I did for “we don’t talk about Bruno.” I basically took that hand exercise loop and made it into this cover!!”

Alejandro reveals he’s working on “acoustic based” music

In the meantime, Alejandro promises that new music is coming and that it’s going to be “acoustic based.” He added next to a clip of him playing an acoustic guitar riff “Super stoked on sharing. Thank you for the support.”

Alejandro drops animated video he calls a “dream come true”

Last month, Alejandro released an animated music video that he described as a “dream come true.”

“This song was a hand warmup I was doing on guitar and then changed into a full on song idea, called ‘Lizard print.’ The animation is from @mocaranm and he absolutely did an amazing job at crafting the video.” Alejandro added, “On drums it’s @andypradojr. And had a quick string session with the absolutely amazing @rob.mathes. The track is mixed by my good friend @fae.muerto.”

“For those that have been following me since the beginning yall know how much of a dream come true moment this is for me,” Alejandro wrote. “All these guys worked so hard for this to piece of art to come to life. Hope you guys enjoy the video! And thank you so much for the support.”
