Check out the Andy Warhol-inspired photo of Adam Lambert from Out Magazine’s 17th annual Out 100 list.
The magazine teased the 17th annual edition of the list this morning with 27 photos of the 100 (See the rest of the partial list HERE.)
(As some of you noted in comments, the entire series is inspired by iconic images of the portraits of the 20th century. Adam’s photo was inspired by Wahol’s portrait of Elvis Presley)
In the blurb accompanying Adam’s photo, the editors give him credit for taking some major stands for gay rights recently. This, after the notorious dust-up between Adam and the editor of the magazine in 2009. At the time, Editor Aaron Hicklin, accused Adam’s management of trying to stuff him back in the closet, and Adam in turn, for not rebelling against his handlers.
Hicklin has patched up his relationship with Adam in a new face to face interview. Read it HERE. Both have come a long way since 2009.
And guess who else made the list! Mark Kanemura of So You Think You Can Dance, and currently Lady Gaga’s principal dancer.
