Paris Bennett homecoming and recording news
This item got lost in the post-finale madness a few weeks ago. Paris Bennett sang and danced for more than 2, 000 people in Rockford, IL at her homecoming celebration last month. During a question-and-answer session, she announced that she’d be releasing a Jazz Christmas album later this year.
She performed “The Way We Were” and a snippet of her audition tune “Take 5”. Her favorite song to perform? Beyonce’s “Work it Out” because it gave her a chance to dance. When asked how she felt about Taylor winning American Idol, she said, “All I can say is … Soul Patrol!”
Katharine McPhee appearance
Katharine McPhee will appear with Martha Stewart in New York City for the christening of a new cruise ship on Wednesday, June 14.
“Crown Princess, the newest ship in Princess Cruises fleet, sailed into New York today to begin its schedule of inaugural festivities…On June 14, the queen of domesticity, Martha Stewart, will officially christen the ship during its naming ceremony at 10:30 a.m. ET. Kevin Covais to sing National Anthem
11th place finisher Kevin Covais will sing the National Anthem before two Long Island Ducks baseball games this month. This coming Saturday, June 10, Kevin will sing the anthem prior to the second annual HIP Grand Slam Challenge. On Friday, June 16, he’ll sing the anthem prior to the Ducks 7:05 p.m. contest with the Somerset Patriots.
