The People have spoken! The 2022 People’s Choice Awards aired on NBC and E Entertainment Tuesday night (Dec 6) and the winners are below, including some of our very favorite reality shows and stars.
Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, The Voice and more score wins
Carrie Underwood fans have NOT forgotten how to vote as she won Country Artist against heavyweights like Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert and more. The American Idol season 4 contestant called the award a “wonderful early Christmas present.” She said, “This whole night is all about the fans. I have the most incredible fans.”
Kelly Clarkson was in the house with her daughter River Rose to accept the Daytime Talk Show award for The Kelly Clarkson Show. River was in the audience clapping away for mama. “I’m having a date night with my daughter River Rose,” said Kelly. Her son Remy was at home not feeling well. “We love you baby,” she said. “This is really cool to get because this is where the people vote…for the last 20 years, that’s my whole career people literally voting me in,” referring to her start as the winner of the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002.
Speaking of competition reality shows, The Voice nabbed the Competition Show award. Host Carson Daly and coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello and Blake Shelton sent congratulations from The Voice studio.
Selma Blair, who competed on Dancing with the Stars this past season, while battling Multiple Sclerosis won in the Competition Contestant category. Harry Styles won the Male Artist award.
Additionally, American Idol season 18 semi-finalist Lauren Spencer-Smith sang her hit song “Fingers Crossed.” She was nominated for Best New Artist but did not win. Plus, country music artist Shania Twain received the “Music Icon” award.
