2022 Creative Arts Emmys: The Voice, RuPaul Wins

The 2022 Emmy Awards will air live coast-to-coast at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Monday, Sept. 12 on NBC. SNL’s Kenan Thompson will host. The show will also stream live on Peacock. The event rotates between ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX year to year. The show usually broadcasts on Sunday, except that NBC’s NFL broadcast contract includes Sunday Night Football.

However, most of the awards have already been handed out at the Creative Arts Emmys which took place over two nights, on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Sunday, Sept. 4. A version of the Creative Arts Emmys will air at 8 p.m. on Sept. 10 on FXX. So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley served as a host on Saturday night, where the reality and variety awards were handed out.  

The Voice won an Emmy in the Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For A Variety Series, category, beating out competition shows, America’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, American Song Contest and The Masked Singer.  

The Voice and The Amazing Race are nominated in the Best Reality Competition Program category, which will be handing out during the Primetime Emmy Awards on September 12. Both series have won numerous times.
