The nominations for the 56th annual Country Music Association Awards were announced Wednesday (Sept 7).

Lainey Wilson leads the pack of CMA nominations this year, with six nods in major categories including album of the year, song of the year, female vocalist of the year, music video of the year, musical event of the year and new artist of the year.

American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood and The Voice alum Morgan Wallen are both nominated for Entertainer of the Year, in addition to Female and Male Vocalist of the year, respectively.

American Idol judge Luke Bryan and former NFL player Peyton Manning will serve as co-hosts. 

The 56th annual CMA Awards will air Wednesday, Nov. 9, live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
