OMG. This is hilarious. Rather than enlist a female vocalist to sing the demo for “I Am Woman”, the female-centric anthem Ryan Tedder co-wrote for Jordin Sparks, he lays down the vocal track himself.

Good news for fans of Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina! The winner and runner-up of American Idol Season 10 will premiere their new music videos on CMT within the week!

Lauren Alaina will get her premiere for “Like MY Mother Does” on August 8. Scotty McCreery gets his “I Love You This Big” premiere the following day on August 9.

Brooke White’s Jack and White EP Coming August 30

Season 7 Idol alum, Brooke White, has partnered up with songwriter Jack Matranga in a project dubbed Jack and White.

The duo has been busy recording songs they wrote together (initially for Brooke’s solo record) and an EP of those tunes, called Gemini will come out on August 30.

I attended the July 31, 2011, St. Louis, American Idols Live concert. To begin, I’ll say that I am probably not a typical fan. I have never seriously followed American Idol before this year. In past years, I stayed only informed enough to discuss the performers with my eighty-year old mother, who has loved the show from the start. However, this year, as I viewed some auditions online, I was introduced to Casey Abrams and was immediately hooked.

Nigel Lythgoe Wants to Change American Idol Voting System

Nigel Lythgoe met with advertisers in New York City today, and Zap2it.com caught up with him to discuss American Idol and the current season of So You Think You Think You Can Dance which has its Season finale Thursday August 11.

Nigel wants to change the Idol voting system to “one device, one vote”–whatever that means. This isn’t the first time Nigel has mentioned changing the voting. He’s also expressed an interest in allowing the judges more control over who gets sent home.

Adam Lambert to Present at VH1 DoSomething Awards (Plus Behind the Music Quotes)

Adam Lambert is set to present at the VH1 DoSomething awards. We knew that already, but today VH1 makes it official with a press release. Adam is also nominated for an award in the Do Something Music Artist category for his work with various charities like DonorsChoose and Charity Water.

Also included some quotes from Adam’s VH1 “Behind the Music” special, airing on Sunday August 7 at 9 pm.
