UPDATE: Currently Scotty’s single “I Love You This Big” is #2 overall and #1 country on iTunes. Lauren Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does” is #4 overall and #2 country. Scotty’s season compilation album is #2 on the overall album chart, #1 on country. Lauren’s compilation album is #8 on the overall album chart, #3 country.

Scotty McCreery Reveals Post ‘American Idol’ Plans

When asked who he’d most like to collaborate with, the country singer told reporters, “Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner, there’s so many of them out there. I’m just honored to be here and singing country – it’s a good genre.”

Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel on “X-Factor” largely because producers were concerned her English accent would be too difficult for an American audience to understand … sources close to the production tell TMZ.

There were other issues too — we’re told Cheryl and fellow judge Paula Abdul had a “lack of chemistry” … and Cheryl was more expendable.
