James Durbin talks ‘Idol’ return, national tour – “We’ve got an hour’s set,” says James, who finished fourth in last year’s Idol competition. “It’s great. The fans have been so responsive throughout this whole journey, and they still are.” You might expect James to perform Love Me Bad, the current single from his Memories of a Beautiful Disaster album, on Idol, but he says that’s not necessarily the case. – Read more at USA Today

Diana DeGarmo & Ace Young: The First Couple of ‘American Idol’ – Kimberly Caldwell and David Cook may have briefly dated, and rumors of on-set “Idol” romances swirl every season. But Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young are without a doubt THE first couple of “American Idol.” Although the 24-year-old Diana, who was Season 3′s first runner-up, and 31-year-old Ace, who placed seventh in Season 5, only recently went public with their inter-season reality romance, the couple have actually been an item for more than two years, and their relationship is both personal and professional. – Read more at Yahoo Music

Celebrity Apprentice’s Lou Ferrigno Wishes He Could’ve Put Lisa Lampanelli in a Sleeper Hold – Apparently Lisa Lampanelli isn’t aware that you don’t mess with The Incredible Hulk. “I wish I could’ve put her in a sleeper hold,” Lou Ferrigno tells TVGuide.com. On Sunday’s episode of The Celebrity Apprentice, Lampanelli was shocked when Ferrigno successfully returned from the boardroom from the previous task. After being called “useless” by Lampanelli, Ferrigno wasn’t able to prove himself in the next challenge and was fired. – Read more at TV Guide

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Hit the Studio – All in good time, was the general response from Aguilera, whose last studio effort was 2010′s “Bionic.” She said quality was more important than quantity and that she wanted to find “personal” songs to record. She did point out, however, that she does have a song she’s recording with fellow judge Cee Lo Green. She would not give the title and Green was equally cautious when Billboard caught up with him after the show. – Read more at Billboard

It will be fun seeing Lauren and Scotty going back to perform their old jobs.  I’m looking forward to that.  :)

Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa are also performing on the April 16th episode of The Voice.   It makes sense to spotlight the mentors, instead of trying to figure out a way to let the audience get to know the contestants.

I think Slezak was just happy to have someone else to bond with over Candace Glover being cut.  Ha ha.

Syesha is very lucky to get cast as the lead in Once on This Island. It’s a fantastic show and she’s following in the footsteps in the wonderful Broadway performer La Chanze.

Does anyone have a live streaming link?

  • Valentin432

Apparently Hollie has had problems clearing Xtina’s songs, this is kind of strange since she sang Reflection week one, I guess someone else has the rights to that song.
Adam doesn’t have the same problems to clear Maroon 5 songs for Idol.

Deandre is so talented and nice.  He was my favorite all season and Idol will be lonely for me without him.  Now I am 100% in Jessica’s camp.  He is so young I am certain he will have a great future.

Special Olympics is a very worthy cause. Sounds like a good match.

Watching the Golden God Awards was for me seeing James taking his baby steps in a pretty tight, hardcore, and surprisingly vibrant world of metal music.  Firstly, had he won the best vocalist award it would have been totally inappropriate and probably would have garnered a lasting hate that would have spelled doom for his career in that genre.  This was something he hasn’t earned. The nomination was a perfect introduction (and he only got a light response to his name being called).  When he was called to present an award (with labelmates Seether) he surprisingly did not get booed off the stage, but didn’t get a rousing cheer either.  He made a nice joke about getting further on Idol than Chris Jericho (the host) made it on Dancing With The Stars.  The crowd didn’t hate that either.  He made his first connection with the crowd when he announced the winner of what he was presenting, “Avenged *expletive* Sevenfold!”.  At that point it seemed as if he was with his people.  Now he just has to go on tour and kick some ass!

BTW, whatever people think about the metal crowd, they put on a great award show.  It was pretty raw, a lot of swearing, but the awards were hardly the focus, it was all about the music.  The acceptance speeches were for the most part funny and none were longer than a couple of minutes.

I guess the ABC ban has been lifted lol. Is a GMA appearance in the works?

So excited for Adam on Jimmy Kimmel! It’s been a long time coming! I can’t with this week. New single, more radio concerts, TV appearances and to top it off confirmed dates with Queen!! So much going on with Adam and it shows no sign of stopping. They are really pushing the live performances this time around and this is brilliant as this is where Adam shines.

  • Anonymous

I can’t wait to see him on the Jimmy Kimmel in a mini concert. Adam is going to be a busy boy in the next coming months and I love it. Plenty of tv appearances and lots of videos.

I just love DeAndre’s attitude. I thought he was someone who possibly didn’t have much of a personality, but I was wrong. He was quiet on the show, but he really does shine in interviews. How sweet and humble. He corrects himself about making an album. IF, he gets to record an album. I know Jimmy won’t sign him, but hopefully a label hears his recordings and notices how great he sounds recorded.

I also have to give credit to Slezak here.  I might not always agree with everything he says, but he almost always manages to make the Idol bootees feel right at home and open up in a way that they often don’t in other interviews.  Mind you in large part because unlike most of their other interviewers, he knows Idol inside and out so he’s coming at it from a different perspective.  You can tell that most of them really enjoy doing the Slezak interviews.

Though I still think DeAndre is a sweetie and far more self aware post-Idol than I expected him to be.   I love his reaction to Jennifer’s “Hi Baby”.

After reading that Idol vs The Voice thing from The Hollywood Reporter, Shirley Halperin needs to be stopped.

Great interview with James on the Idol Chatter-Can’t wait till tonight!

  • shamrock

I thought the same aboug the interview.

Sadly, not having any controversal statements (that I am aware of – but
what do I know? LOL), I guess it won’t awake an intererest in that many
    people…

The bit about Hollie’s parent was cute. <3 Unless you think
it was their tactic to fill up other contestants with alcohol to
    eliminate competition. J/K

And I hope to see a video of Jame’s performance (thanks MJ, for providing your YT videos so quickly) before I got to work tomorrow to
brighten my start into the day.

    LOL How true.
