The X Factor US begins its cattle call auditions at the LA Sports Arena in Los Angeles today. Reports estimated, the crowd outside the complex in the rain and chill at 18, 000. Eta: EW reports the crowd at around 15, 000.

“L.A. is known for producing amazing talent, ” said executive producer Andrew Linares, against the soundtrack of hopefuls crooning and/or screaming for show cameras capturing footage to be included when “The X Factor” premieres in the fall. “People usually head to L.A. to try and make it. So we’re very hopeful that in the midst of all these people are some potential contenders.”
The audition schedule includes stops in Miami (April 7), Newark (April 14), Seattle (April 20), Chicago (April 27) and Dallas (May 26). Check out the official X Factor website for details.
