Next Friday April 8th, CMT’s Next Superstar debuts on CMT at 9 pm. Produced by Nigel Lythgoe and his son Simon Lythgoe, each hour episode of the 10 hour series will feature 10 contestants living together in a house and competing to be CMT’s “Next Superstar”.
The video, after the jump, features Season 10 Idol hopeful turned Superstar hopeful, Adrianne Beasley, talking about the difference between the two shows, and a contestant adding a country twang to “I Kissed a Girl” completely un-ironically (what’s the point?)
Also, Nigel and Simon talk about the competition ahead, and we catch glimpses of the Top 10. The oldest contestant, Wynn Varble is 50 years old and has a long list of country song writing credentials. Two other S10 Hollywood contestants also made the cut.
