It’s Big Band week and TOP 8 finalists perform with live orchestra tonight.

Check out the song spoilers.

Simon Cowell is appearing on tonight’s show in some way.

OMG, X Factor’s voice-over guy Peter Dickson is on stage, with a microphone! He introduces Dermot O’Leary. And the live orchestra is on stage, too!

Now Peter Dickson introduces the judges. The band plays O Fotura?

Louis still has all three acts in the competition!

Abi Alton – That’s Life

Abi dedicates this performance to her father.
Abi sounds surprisingly good on this. But I don’t think this is a great song choice.
Louis: You opened the show, you lost your glasses and piano … It didn’t go far for me …
Sharon: It was a great song choice, however, I expect more sassiness from you.
Gary: That was a brilliant performance!
Nicole: You made your dad and your family proud …

Sam Bailey – New York New York

Sam got a tweet from Michael Bolton. And then he showed up at the X Factor mansion. He gives her some advice how to perform this week.
Sam belts it out.
Gary: This is ridiculous. Week after week, your range gets bigger and bigger. Incredible.
Nicole: You came out with the biggest boom! We’ve heard that song a million different times, but this is how it’s supposed to be sung.
Louis: For me, you are the one to beat!
Sharon: That was stunning. I’m on your coattails.

Nicholas McDonald – Dream A Little Dream

Louis says that if he was Nick’s manager, he would put Big Band music on his album. #boring
Nick pretty much nails the song. There is not much to say, to be honest. It was a little bit boring?
Sharon: The hair, stunning, fabulous! You embraced this week, fantastic!
Gary: The thing with you is consistency …
Nicole: My Nicky blue eyes… I love the hair …
Louis: Another faultless performance … I think everyone is Scotland is proud of you.

Nicole’s family came from Havaii.

Luke Friend – Moondance

Luke goes home, goes busking and visits friends from collage.
Luke looks great with his hair pulled back. Big Band style isn’t exactly his thing. His delivery is passionate, but it’s a bit too rough?
Sharon: That was 110 for effort! Well done, Luke.
Gary: I was disappointed with you tonight. This style is just not thing. Listen to Michael Buble, he is the laziest singer, singing just behind the beat …
Nicole: I have to agree with Gary. I would have picked up a tempo.
Louis: You were a busker in Devon. Guys. He did a great job.

Hannah Barrett – This Is A Man’s World

Was on vocal rest from Sunday to Thursday. The song was her late Dad’s favorite.
Hmm, I’m not digging this … Hannah is just screaming too much.
Louis: You sang your heart out …
Sharon: Never gets to the point …
Gary: I absolutely loved it.
Nicole: You came out, you had this confidence …

The judges are more or less completely useless tonight. To be honest, there is not much to say with this theme.

Rough Copy – Hit The Road Jack

Gary took them go-karting this week. One guy they are performing with instruments he’s never heard of …
They have some choreo … This is actually pretty good.
Nicole: I’m gonna call it now … if you are not in the final 3 of this show …
Louis: You totally embraced the theme, you have great chemistry. You have to make the final.
Sharon: Whoever made that arrangement (Gary) … it was fantastic.
Gary: That was a great performance, thank you so much!

Tamera Foster – Cry Me A River

She was in the bottom 3 last week and cried after she was saved and came off stage.
Hmm, this song was slightly re-arranged
Louis: After this performance, we did absolutely right thing when we saved you last week.
Sharon: Last week, you really sang for your life. You sang really well tonight. Stop holding back.
Gary: Me and the judges and people at home take you for granted. You are a great singer, you look amazing. This competition is all about potential and you have lots of potential, you have star quality.
Nicole: That performance was absolutely mesmerizing. I’m so thankful the judges saved you last week, thank you.

Sam Callahan – Ain’t That A Kick In The Head

Sam doesn’t want to be Gary’s punching bag. He says he likes Big Band and swing. Simon announces TOP 8 will go on X Factor tour via satellite.
Sam’s voice is still dire, but at least he has fun on stage and “gets” the theme.
Sharon: Sam, first of all, you know what, every week you get knocked from us and you are still here. Congratulations. A for effort.
Gary: You had a great time up there, good done.
Nicole: I love that your personality came out, you embraced Big Band. Good job, A for effort.
Louis: You deserve to be in the competition.

Lines are now open!

Quite a kick in the head! Gary Barlow barely comments on Sam Callahan’s X Factor performance as Big Band Night hots up
The pressure was on for young Sam Callahan on Saturday evening when he took to the stage for that he hooped was a rousing performance on Big Band Night.

Unfortunately for the teenager, his X Factor rendering of Sammy Davis Jr hit Ain’t That A Kick In The Head left the judging panel divided on Saturday night – and garnered his worst response yet from Gary Barlow.

Indeed, as the performance came to an end the Take That front-man offered a noncommittal critique.

Start spreadin’ the news! Tamera Foster makes a rousing comeback as The X Factor swings into action on Big Band Night
The comments may well have been mixed, but The X Factor’s youngest contestant did her best to knock it out of the park on another night of high drama for this year’s hopefuls.

Indeed, as Big Band Night got into full swing, 16-year-old Tamera Foster took to the stage with a rendition of Cry Me A River, the much covered classic originally sung by Julia London.

The young singer was turning in her latest performance after admitting her appearance in the bottom two last week had knocked her confidence.

Nicole Scherzinger enjoys an X Factor style overhaul in a dramatic canary yellow fishtail gown… as Sharon Osbourne opts for full-on gothic glamour
She tends to stick to glamorous gowns in muted hues as she struts her stuff on The X Factor stage.

But Nicole Scherzinger injected a welcome pop of colour to Big Band night on Saturday as she showcased her stunning hourglass curves in a dramatic canary yellow fishtail gown.

Positively stealing the show before the acts had even taken to the stage for the evening, the 35-year-old singer exuded old Hollywood glamour in the striking full-length dress by Michael Costello.

X Factor bosses urge judges ‘to be more like Nicole Scherzinger’ as Strictly Come Dancing wins the Saturday night ratings battle again
She’s the most outlandish judge on The X Factor panel, and that’s why bosses are asking Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne to act more like Nicole Scherzinger.

According to The Sun, the judges are being asked to ‘raise their game’ and get more involved with their acts, which has reportedly heated up the rivalry between them on the show.

This comes as the latest Saturday night ratings show Strictly Come Dancing has topped the leader board once more with 10.3 million viewers compared to The X Factor’s 8.22m.
