Interview: STL’s Ariane Rinehart Talks NBC’s ‘The Sound of Music’ And Carrie Underwood – ALIVE: How is working with Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer? AR: Carrie is absolutely wonderful. She’s like a ray of sunshine personified, and is insanely talented and hard working. Some days, especially when we were recording the CD, she’ll work seven days a week, all day long, and she is always lovely, always kind and always ready to work. It’s amazing. Maria is a huge undertaking, both in how much she is in the show and how iconic the character is, and Carrie is going to do a wonderful job.ALIVE: Where will we see you next?
AR: You’ll be seeing me next live on Dec. 5 on NBC! Well, technically you’ll see me the week before when NBC releases the “making of” documentary that follows the process of putting “The Sound of Music” together. – Read more at Alive Mag

Kellie Pickler Returns With ‘The Woman I Am’ – Kellie Pickler gets personal on her new album, “The Woman I Am,” out Nov. 11. If you need proof of this, take one listen to “Selma Drye,” a song about a person that Pickler knew very well — her great grandmother. The singer wrote the song with Billy Montana and Phillip Lammonds, and she tells Billboard that she feels she captured the essence of who she was. “I was just describing her,” she said. “She lived in front of us, and she was a pistol – your stereotypical hillbilly granny. I was so intrigued by her. She had a pistol and an apron, and kept a can of snuff in her apron. She never had a drivers license or had a car – it was the devil. She never put her money in the bank – it was the devil. She was very old fashioned and stuck in her ways. In some ways, it was beautiful. She never conformed to the ways of the world. She kept all of her money in canning jars, washed her clothes in the sink and hung them up on the line. She was very much old school, and I think that song represents the women of her generation.” – Read more at Billboard.com

Kellie Pickler: ‘I Don’t See the Redneck in Me’ – Is your new song “I Forgive You” for your mom, who left you to be raised by your grandparents? It’s for different people, some of them very obvious. You can put in whoever you want. I mean it in the most heartfelt way—there are no hard feelings. Are you and your husband, Kyle Jacobs, planning to start a family? We’re happy with it being just us right now. I don’t see why everybody’s in a rush. – Read more at Parade

Fifth Harmony Inspires Patients at Seacrest Studios! – It was a delightful whirlwind of energy, enthusiasm, and giggles when Fifth Harmony visited the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The girl group, which was formed on the second season of The X-Factor, was asked questions in studio about The X-Factor judges, their favorite TV shows, and favorite Twilight character. We found out that the girls might not agree on everything, but their shared passion for singing and performing and utmost positive attitude in overcoming challenges has made them, as they sing in their song, “better together.”

Swon Brothers talk about life with new album label Arista Nashville – Since they were little kids, the Swon Brothers said they have been kicked out of record labels across Nashville. Last week, not only were they allowed to stay in the building, but they also signed on the dotted line. “This is something we’ve been chasing a really long time, and for it to finally happen, man, we just couldn’t say much to each other,” Colton Swon said. “We just looked at each other and said ‘This is really happening.’ ” Zach and Colton Swon signed to the Sony Nashville label Arista Nashville, which is home to several current country stars and the former label of several legends. – Read more at Tulsa World

Dancing’s Derek Hough: We’re a Little Behind – Amber and I were so pumped to get immunity, especially since we were both nearly crippled last week! It was also good to get immunity not just for immunity sake, but because we got to rest Amber’s knee. We practiced for all three dance-offs, so to not have to do one was good. I thought Cher was great. It was so wild to see Cher up there. We’ve had a lot of really fantastic, talented stars come through, but what she has accomplished throughout her career is unfathomable. You can talk about and think about it, but it’s still crazy to be looking right at her. My favorite moment was when she held up her paddle and was like, “Cher!” She should’ve done that for everyone! – Read more at TV Guide
