Song Spoilers!

The X Factor final is just a week away. Which three acts will get to perform at Wembley arena?

Lionel Richie mentored the semifinalists this week.

The judges arrive. Simon can’t muster a smile.

Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – Locked Away – R City Ft. Adam Levine

They went to a movie premiere this weekend. Lionel Richie is mentoring … says singing is great, but performing is everything.
Ohoho, they are singing. Like, really singing. They are weak singers, but this could be much worse. That said, this is not entertaining, like at all. Still lots of screams for them from the public.
Simon says this was their worst performance to date. Nick agrees with Simon, but says it was nice to bring out some harmonies. Rita says it wasn’t the best, but it was decent. Of course, they are always the best for Cheryl. Prepare for a huge second performance.

Lauren Murray- – Take Me Home – Jess Glynne

Lauren isn’t too happy with the song choice (Emotions). She enjoyed the mentoring session with Lionel, but the song still isn’t working for Lauren, so Rita picks “Take Me Home”.
Eeek, the vocals at the start are not great. The second, belting part sounds better, but then she again struggles with the low parts.
Cheryl is glad that Lauren has an instinct. Simon compliments Lauren’s look. He loved the song, but says it was a little bit panicky and screechy. He advises her to hold herself together. Nick says this was the first time he felt her nerves. Lauren reveals she is ill. Rita says she gained trust with her fans.

Ché Chesterman – Would I Lie To You? – Charles & Eddie

Lionel talks to Che’s dad over the phone.
Che gets a band, backing vocalists and a choir. He sounds fine, but he looks like a karaoke singer. No star quality. This wasn’t a great song choice for this moment in the competition. It goes without a hitch.
Rita says she loved the song and ad-libs …Cheryl says he took her right back to her childhood with that song. Simon says Che might have booked himself a spot in the final with that performance … whatever. Nick says this was a 100% Che.

Louisa Johnson – The Power Of Love – Frankie Goes To Hollywood (Gabrielle Aplin cover)

Lionel likes Louisa’s voice, but says she needs to learn how to perform. Louisa visits West Ham Football Club.
Louisa gets violinists in red and the best sound mix possible. Oh and the angel wings! This is easily the best vocal performance so far. Just crown her the winner!
Cheryl says Louisa drew her in with every single note. Simon can’t think of a better performance than “incredible”. He spews out all possible compliments. Nick says she made the song her own. Rita can’t add anything constructive.

The voting is now open! Recap of the first round performances.

Lionel says the contestants only need polish. He liked Che and Louisa the most. He will be touring the UK next year.

Ché Chesterman – Love Is A Losing Game – Amy Winehouse

Che is opening the second round. He gets a skype call from producer Mark Ronson, advising him how to tackle the song he produced. Che gets a blue triangle for a background. He sounds fine, but I doubt this will really motivate people to vote. Pleasant performance. He makes Nick Grimshaw cry.
Rita says it was beautiful, simple, stunning. ZZZ. Cheryl also sounds emotional. Simon says it wasn’t a very good version. He says the production of the track was not good enough. Nick still can’t pull himself together.

Louisa Johnson – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World – James Brown (Christina Aguilera version)

She is stoked to perform. Leona Lewis is her idol.
Louisa wears white. She has a choir and the strings section on stage, also in white. Huge vocals. Top production. There is no doubt who is the chosen one.
All 4 judges give her a standing ovation.
Cheryl says it was “absolutely fantastic”. Simon says: “Britain’s Got Talent. Masterclass.” He reminds people not to be complacent. Nick says it was effortless, etc. Rita says Louisa blew her away again.

Lauren Murray – Runnin’ (Lose It All) – Naughty Boy Ft. Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin

Lauren loves this song choice. She really wants to get to the final.
She gets a waterfall for a background. She also stands on a huge platform. She sounds much better on this song.
Cheryl says Lauren gets braver every week. She tells Lauren to lose all the old Whitney and Mariah songs. Simon says watching Lauren is full of ups and downs, like the Eastenders. He says this was a great performance. Nick says she is very easy to watch when she is comfortable with the song. Rita says she is very proud of both her girls.

Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – I Gotta Feeling / I Like To Move It – Black Eyed Peas / Reel 2 Real

Reggie and Bollie are closing the show with what will surely be a huge production. It’s gonna be a huge party.
Their beautiful children and stepchildren are featured in the VT. This should get them some support.
As expected, TPTB want RnB in the final. Dancers, confetti shower. People in the audience all got glow sticks for this performance. Standing ovation from the judges.
Simon says this is the RnB we love. He says the final would not be the final without them. Nick says they should always perform medleys. Rita says it would not the be the final without them. Cheryl repeats that comment and appeals for votes.

Olly and Caroline repeat the voting numbers. Reminder of the second round.

Thoughts: I think they want Che Chesterman out tomorrow night. Him or Lauren Murray.

Jason Derulo and Sia perform tomorrow.
