Tonight Nick Grimshaw announces the TOP 3 boys and Rita Ora picks the TOP 3 girls.

Only the boys and the girls remain seated on stage tonight. Cheryl brings her final three groups on stage and then Simon arrives with the final three overs. They will be watching tonight’s show from the sidelines.

Olly introduces the final 6 boys. Nick Grimshaw enters through the tunnel once again. He is looking for superstars that could be played on the radio.

Caroline introduces the final 6 girls and Rita Ora.

First, it’s time for Nick to pick his final three. We are starting with a recap of the performances that were aired last night.

Nick has made his decision. The boys won’t get a chance to plead tonight.

Nick’s picks: Mason Noise, Che Chesterman, Seann Miley Moore

Gah, another break before they final boy is revealed!

Seann Miley Moore is the final boy! Thank You Lord! I’m a bit sad for Ben, but I guess he would be too boring and too threatening for the win.

Time for the girls!

Rita Ora took the girls to LA. Meghan Trainor served as a guest judge. They filmed at a nice modern villa.

Havva Rebke – Hold On We’re Going Home (Drake)
Acoustic in the beginning before the beat kicks in. I think this won’t be enough for the live shows. But that’s just me. Havva just isn’t that good vocally. Meghan thinks she’s got the style and sass.

Monica Michael – original song
Nice tactic. I personally think Monica has a likability problem. The song is about Monica’s brother that drowned last year 6 days after the 6 chair challenge. Meghan said that she didn’t like Monica singing covers, but that original was great. The problem is, contestants mostly sing covers for votes during the live shows.

Chloe Paige – A Little Respect (Erasure)
Nice cover, but I find it a bit nervous. Rita doesn’t know what will make Chloe stand out.

Kiera Weathers – Show Me Love (Robin S)
Nice cover. Rita thinks the song wasn’t really the right one to make a big impression.

Louisa Johnson – Respect (Aretha Franklin)
Starts slowed down and acoustic. Then it goes more upbeat. This one is a no brainer for the live shows. Potential winner. Simon has eyes on her. Rita reached for Meghan’s hand. “Something happened y’all.” says Meghan.

Lauren Murray – Take Me Home (Jess Glynne)
This is Jess Glynne’s next UK single. Barely released. Meghan loved the performance. Rita is worried about her stage presence.

Rita’s picks: Louisa Johnson, Lauren Murray, Kiera Weathers

Rita Ora nailed it. (I also nailed it.) Looking at all the 6 girls overall, those three were the obvious picks. I feel sorry for Monica Michael. She is talented, but she lacks something in the likability department and looks a bit too mature for the girls category. She is like Jade Richards from a few years ago. Talented, but not right for X Factor.
