Chris Maloney goes home after ‘abusing fellow contestants’. One Direction to release charity single in February.

Sore loser Chris storms off X Factor: Maloney goes home after ‘abusing fellow contestants’
He exited the competition on Saturday night’s show after landing in third place behind Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur

But Christopher Maloney has waved an early goodbye to his X Factor journey after deciding he doesn’t want to take part in the series final on Sunday night

The 34-year-old singer is said to have riled bosses with his ‘abusive’ attitude towards his fellow contestants during rehearsals, before ‘storming out’ and returning to Liverpool.

An X Factor spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Chris decided he no longer wanted to be part of The X Factor Final and has gone back to Liverpool.’

The Liverpudlian wannabe was allegedly angered when he realised he had only been given one line in the group medley, and ‘stormed off’ to his nearby hotel.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘Everyone is completely fed up of his behaviour. He was abusive to the production team and other contestants.

‘He said he was leaving and didn’t want to perform in the final tonight.’

His exit means Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will go head-to-head at the grand final.

Despite fears by some of the judges the 34-year-old Liverpudlian could win the show after a mixed critique of his performances in recent weeks, he failed to get enough votes.

One Direction Headlines Sold-Out Show at Madison Square Garden
One Direction’s headlining gig Monday night at Madison Square Garden, the British boy band’s first, was less of a proper concert and more of a victory lap from a banner year. A 90-minute plus set of the boys singing their hits as well as fan favorites like “Tell Me A Lie,” “Kiss You” and “Save You Tonight,” the show felt “almost like the biggest showcase you’ve ever been to last night,” Rob Stringer, chairman-CEO of Columbia Records said the morning after.

The show also doubled as a prelude to One Direction’s fan convention in New Jersey Tuesday, where fans from more than 35 countries around the world were flown in as part of a Golden Ticket package. To those fans as well as the thousands of screaming girls from all over the tri-state area, Monday’s show was as intimate as a sold-out gig at Madison Square Garden could get. The low-key stage was outfitted with an extensive runway that allowed the boys to high-five the crowd and serenade fans directly from all corners. Harry, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Niall even sat down at the stage’s edge at one point to sing “Little Things,” their current, acoustic single — complete with co-writer Ed Sheeran, who also opened the show.

Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, One Direction and More Light Up NYC at Z100 Jingle Ball
Z100’s annual Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden Friday night (December 7) was bookended by an opening performance from One Direction and a closing headline set from Justin Bieber, with plenty of teen pop, British imports and R&B thrown in to make this year’s event an exceptionally youthful, zeitgeist-courting occasion — and a brisk one at that. Ten acts were squeezed into a set that came in just under four hours, with only Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift and Bieber getting enough set time to play anything close to a non-single.

Alums from the UK “X Factor” were in particular abundance this year. Fresh off their first headlining gig at the Garden just this Monday, One Direction powered through their four biggest hits – “Live While We’re Young,” “One Thing,” “Little Things” and “What Makes You Beautiful” to rev up the crowd, transitioning seamlessly into a quick two-song set from Olly Murs. The stage was later graced by Cher Lloyd, who cameo’d to perform her top 20 hit “Want U Back,” and Scooter Braun-backed boy band The Wanted, who played a lively, five-song set that included rising single “I Found You” and top 3 smash “Glad You Came.” Singer Max George, the subject of an alleged club confrontation involving Lindsay Lohan in New York last week, wore a cheeky T-shirt brandishing the phrase “You Mad, Bro?”

Singer-songwriter pop was also well represented, particularly in the form of Taylor Swift. Clad in a sparkly silver top and high-waisted red hot pants, Swift was backed by a giant “Red” setpiece – lest anyone forget the title of the album that’s already sold 2.2 million copies since its late October album. She powered through hits like “Love Story” and “You Belong To Me” and also gave one of her first live performances of new popstep single “I Knew You Were Trouble,” believed to be inspired by her recently on-again romance with One Direction’s Harry Styles. “Have you ever seen someone for the very first time, locked eyes with them from across the room, and think to yourself, ‘Aw, he’s trouble,'” she told the crowd.

They recently kicked off a new romance but it seems Harry Styles may already be trying to make Taylor Swift jealous.

‘Robbie Williams is not the man I knew. He’s a totally different person’: Gary Barlow on the former enemy who turned into his best friend
The musician on the X Factor final, his bust-up with Tulisa, two decades with Take That and how his friendship with Robbie Williams has changed – for the better
In his tidy, compact dressing room backstage at The X Factor, Gary Barlow gives a slow, sardonic smile as a rather awkward subject is raised – his alleged less-than-sparkling personality.

Simon Cowell complained to his biographer Tom Bower that the Take That singer was dull and his co-host (and strangely enough, good friend) Nicole Scherzinger nicknamed him ‘Gary Borelow’.

‘Do I care?’ says Barlow, 41, multi-award-winning songwriter, OBE, official organiser of this year’s Jubilee musical celebrations – by order of the Queen herself.

‘Honest answer. I don’t. People can say what they like and it washes over me.’

He pauses and regards the packs of biscuits that are arranged – untouched (he has stuck to a rigid diet for the past four years) – on the coffee table next to him.

‘A few years ago something like that would have killed me. But now I couldn’t care less.

‘I don’t go on Twitter, I don’t read negative stuff in the media, I ignore everything and just get on with my life.
