Westlife tweeted they will be performing on the X Factor this Sunday. This will be their final appearance on the hit show because the band is splitting up next year. Other confirmed guests: Coldplay, Leona Lewis, Michael Buble, JLS, One Direction.

More rumours emerged yesterday that The X Factor is a fix after Amelia Lily’s ‘winner’s single’ was made available for pre-order on HMV’s website.

But the 17-year-old singer decided to put the scandal behind her today as she returned to her hometown of Middlesborough ahead of the show final this weekend.

Dressed in a tight black dress with a pink faux fur coat to match her pale pink hair, Amelia looked delighted as she caught up with her former classmates at Teeside High School and treated them to a quick performance in the school hall.

Welcome home! X Factor’s Marcus Collins returns to Liverpool where he’s joined by mentor Gary Barlow
He’s come a long way since he left Liverpool to find fame and fortune on The X Factor and it was emphasised even more when he returned to the city just days before the live final on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old was given the star treatment making a grand entrance at his old school in a helicopter and greeted by screaming fans.

And later in the day the singer’s mentor, Gary Barlow, popped round to meet the family and have an obligatory cup of tea.

All of the X Factor contestants are heading off this week to rile up some hometown support ahead of this weekend’s final.

But girl group Little Mix are having to put in four times the legwork, making their way around the country to greet each of their friends and families.

After paying a visit to Jesy Nelson’s hometown of Romford, Essex, yesterday, the group and their mentor Tulisa travelled up north yesterday to South Shields.

One Direction and JLS form X Factor supergroup
X FACTOR bosses are serving up a unique treat for this weekend’s final – a SUPERGROUP of One Direction and JLS.

TV Biz can reveal that Britain’s two biggest boy bands — sorry, Gary! — have been secretly working in the studio together on a “mash-up” of two of their biggest tunes.

1D and JLS — who both got their big breaks on X Factor — have been fusing their respective hits, What Makes You Beautiful and She Makes Me Wanna.

A show source said: “It’s no secret that 1D and JLS have been booked for the final — but we’re ratcheting things up a notch. The lads thought it would be a great idea if they all did a song together.

Actions speak louder than words; and while neither party has confirmed if they are dating, Harry Styles’ walk of shame today insinuated they are.

The One Direction singer was seen leaving Caroline Flack’s home this morning at 9.30am, looking dishevelled and with scruffier hair than usual.

Caroline later emerged at 11.30am with a ‘like it or lump it’ smile, implying she has no intention of listening to her critics and ending the romance.
