X Factor turned me into a karaoke singer: Axed singer Janet Devlin lashes out at show bosses following her exit
It’s only been a day since she was voted off the X Factor but Janet Devlin has already turned on the show saying it turned her into a karaoke singer.

The 17-year-old lost out to fellow singer Misha B last night, but said she could have gone further if she’d have been a ‘puppet’ and done exactly what she was told.

Janet lashed out at the show during an appearance on the Lorraine Kelly Show this morning.

She told the chat show host: ‘To me the sad thing about X Factor — and it’s brought me down a lot — is the fact that I’ve just been covering other people’s songs.

‘It got to the point where I felt like a karaoke artist every Saturday night.’

And she reiterated that despite being told the opposite she stuck to her guns to avoid being a ‘puppet’.

Remembering the lyrics may have helped? Janet Devlin loses place in semi-final as she becomes the latest X Factor casualty
Despite the strength in numbers of regional voting, Janet Devlin lost her place in The X Factor semi-final tonight.

After battling Misha B in the bottom two, it seems her native Ireland couldn’t save her.

It comes as little surprise, considering she forgot the lyrics to her first song last night while performing Hanson track MMMBop in the Guilty Pleasures round.

X Factor: No-vote Kelly Rowland in tears
JANET Devlin was last night booted off X Factor — after judge Kelly Rowland lost her nerve and turned to jelly.

Kelly, mentor to both of the bottom two — Janet and Misha B — had watched as fellow judges Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos opted to kick out 17-year-old Janet.

But when it came her turn to choose, Kelly broke down in tears and bottled out.

After watching the sing-off, a clearly emotional Kelly said: “I know how great these two girls are. I’ve watched them grow and I’ve seen how hard they work.

“To be honest I really can’t make a decision. I love these girls.” Host Dermot O’Leary told her Janet would definitely go out if she abstained as the two other judges had already voted to send her home.

But Kelly blubbed: “I can’t. I have to pass. I’m sorry.”

Misha B: Tulisa has turned the viewers against me
Misha told a newspaper: “Why the whole thing was brought up was never really explained… they just went from being about the music to being about nonsense.

“I know if I was watching the show and someone accused someone like they did without knowing the facts then that would make me change my mind on the person.

“I understand how people think and how as human beings they are heavily influenced by people’s comments.

“Of course it is going to damage my chances of winning the show. It got blown so out of proportion and the judges weren’t there and jumped to conclusions.”

X Factor heroin uproar: Anti-drugs groups slam Janet Devlin’s song choice for live singoff as ‘irresponsible’
The X Factor is at the centre of a new drugs scandal following Janet Devlin’s dramatic exit from the show last night.

Viewers have protested over the 17-year-old’s song choice for her singoff against Misha B during the live results show.

Janet chose the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ infamous 1992 hit, Under The Bridge, which includes troubling lyrics about heroin needles drawing blood.

The song- which is about ex-addict Anthony Kiedis, 49, shooting up- has been slammed as an ‘irresponsible’ choice by children’s charities and anti-drugs groups.

Misha B pinches Jessie J glory: Do It Like A Dude singer upset that X Factor hopeful sang her new tune on the show before her
It may be a platform for aspiring hopefuls to launch their careers, but it’s also a showcase for established artists to boost sales during guest appearances.

So Jessie J wasn’t too happy that her glory moment of debuting her new song on X Factor tonight was tainted by Misha B – who sang the track two weeks ago.

The Do It Like A Dude singer was invited on the ITV reality series to perform her latest single Who Are You, but the Mancunian got there first by singing it during the sing-off with Kitty Brucknell.

‘My mates still take the mickey out of me … even for my famous trilby’
Says Olly Murs

HE must be one of the busiest men in showbiz right now but like a typical lad, all Olly Murs can think of is playing football with his mates back in Essex.

Last night, Olly’s latest single Dance With Me Tonight, went straight into the charts at No2 — just pipped to the top by Rihanna — and he performed the track on The X Factor, joined on stage by The Muppets.

His second album, In Case You Didn’t Know, is out today and he is also presenting hit TV show, The Xtra Factor.

But unlike a lot of Olly’s pop peers, none of that matters to him as much as his friends and family… and his footie.

The singer-turned-presenter still plays for his local amateur team, Notley FC, whenever possible.
