Matt Cardle banned from appearing on the X Factor? Three new songs from One Direction’s sophomore album leak!

X FACTOR 2012: BOSS BANS FORMER WINNER MATT CARDLE FROM SHOW FROM X FACTOR
X FACTOR winner Matt Cardle is fuming after being banned by Simon Cowell from performing on the show.

The 2010 champion has an album out but won’t get to plug it on the ITV1 talent show.

And Cowell, 53, has even ruled that he’s not to be invited on spin off show Xtra Factor. The move has infuriated Matt because while he has been given the cold shoulder, boyband One Direction, JLS and Rebecca Ferguson, 26, have been invited onto the show – even though none of them won the series.

The camp Essex lad was mid-way through his rendition of Madonna’s track Hung Up when he shouted out: ‘This one’s for you Spraggan, I love you.’

‘X Factor’: How do you solve a problem like Christopher Maloney?
X Factor used to be a light-hearted Saturday night entertainment show. For the first couple of series it was cheesy entertainment. Nobody cared if the acts went on to achieve chart success, it was more about binmen singing ’80s soft rock standards, perky kids belting out big band classics and game old women warbling along to Whitney. We had winners like Steve Brookstein and finalists who had about as much chance of lighting up the charts as a Jimmy Savile tribute record.

But nowadays, the show has become part of a Syco conveyor belt. It’s about creating proper popstars and generating hit records. Which is great if you’re 17, and JLS, One Direction and Cher Lloyd are your idea of fun.

But if you only tune into X Factor for the pantomime and Louis Walsh, there’s no fun to be had in watching pretty people singing mash-ups, groups showcasing their “urban roots” and boybands having their auto-tune switched up to 11 so we can focus on the fact that they have hair like Harry Styles.

Lucy’s Spraggone… but back for the final
AILING Lucy Spraggan sensationally quit The X Factor yesterday — and was immediately invited back to perform at the live final.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter pulled out with ill health. She said: “I am gutted not to be able to continue on this journey but I am not well enough to perform.”

Brave Lucy vowed in a statement: “There is no way this will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition. You’ll be hearing from me again very soon.”

Last night she was being comforted by girlfriend Harriet Lichfield, 24, who flew back from Thailand where she has been teaching. Lucy is still on track to make a fortune. Like all the finalists, she is being looked after by an agent from Quest Management, who also oversee Sir Paul McCartney.

It’s Rylan, the ladies’ man!
X FACTOR star Rylan Clark glosses over the fact he’s gay — to pose as a decorator having a raunchy brush with a near naked girl.

The pair were daubed in luminous paint for the 2010 shoot when Rylan, in just jeans and braces, was an aspiring model.

The snapper said: “He was a complete natural when it came to setting up shots and posing.

Factor the future
Cowell wants all the original judges back

X FACTOR guru Simon Cowell hopes to save the show by bringing back his old judges.

He has asked Sharon Osbourne to team up again with him and Louis Walsh — the sparring threesome who launched the show in 2004.

He also hopes to woo back Dannii Minogue, who was next to join — despite claims they had a short-lived fling.

And even fans’ favourite Cheryl Cole is in the frame, after she and Simon made up following their very public fallout.

It’s gun direction: One Direction to be protected with guns on US and Mexico tour
The group’s managers are taking no risks with their safety after they were mobbed by excited young fans there in June
ONE DIRECTION’S minders have been told to get gun licences before the band tour the US and Mexico.

The group’s managers are taking no risks with their safety after they were mobbed by excited young fans there in June.

A security source close to the stars said: “They are the biggest boyband in the world. If their bosses say we need guns, then we have to get guns. They will be travelling to some dangerous areas in the world.”

One Direction will perform in Mexico City on June 9 before their two-month North American tour. Our source added: “There are lots of threats – the worst possibility is a gang will want to kidnap them. But that won’t be allowed to happen.

“The group’s security guards have all had to get social security cards and ID cards for America and Canada. And they may bring in armed guards who they have worked with before in Mexico.”
