Clinging onto the Edge Of Glory: Kitty Bucknell triumphs as Sami Brookes becomes the third X Factor casualty
Louis Walsh was faced with sending one of his own acts home tonight as Kitty Brucknell and Sami Brookes fought for survival in the bottom two.

The X Factor stars battled each other, with Brucknell’s rendition of Lady Gaga’s The Edge Of Glory triumphing over Brookes’ version of Aretha Franklin hit A Natural Woman.

Walsh’s decision proved unpopular with the studio audience, as he was greeted with boos.

‘I promised I would never lie… but you were awful last week’: X Factor judge Gary Barlow turns brutally honest with his act Frankie Cocozza
Since replacing Simon Cowell in the head judge’s seat, Gary Barlow has quickly gained a reputation as the honest ‘Mr Nasty’ of the competition.

But tonight, the Take That singer admitted he had ‘lied’ on last week’s show when he praised his act Frankie Cocozza, who narrowly avoided leaving the show after ending up in the bottom two.

After the 18-year-old performed Primal Scream’s Get Your Rocks Of, Barlow decided to come clean over his praise of the Brighton-native the previous week.

Barlow said: ‘When I decided to sit in this seat, there was one thing I promised myself I would never do, and that was lie and I lied for you last weekend and I said your performance was good and it wasn’t…it was awful. You deserved to be in the bottom two last week.

Tulisa and Louis Walsh turn on X Factor favourite Misha B as they accuse her of ‘backstage bullying’
Misha B has been one of the bookies favourites since her first X Factor audition in the summer.

But last night, judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh gave the budding singer, 19, a dressing down when they accused her of ‘bullying’ other contestants backstage.

Although she has impressed the judges every single week with her powerful performances, the two said they were concerned about her behaviour off-screen.

X Factor Live Show 3 – Rock Week AKA – Song Week
I’ve seen enough of the show and read enough tabloid propaganda to know that The Risk are the ones the production team and the label want to succeed. One Direction were meant to win last year if it wasn’t for that pesky Matt Cardle but they are really aimed at kids just growing out of ZingZillas. The Risk will be direct rivals to The Wanted.

The judges failed to mention that The Risk had tuning problems and poor harmonies or the fact their song wasn’t rock. But still they are better than One Direction and look how well they are doing.

X Factor in crisis! Simon Cowell orders show to improve ’10 per cent’ each week, as Gary Barlow worries over ‘awful’ Frankie
GARY Barlow has revealed how Simon Cowell wants the X Factor to be boosted by ’10 per cent’ each week – as he admitted the judges had to ‘up their game’.

The Take That star, 40, who took over from Cowell in the chief judge hot seat this series, said the show supremo had been in touch following last Saturday’s show, which suffered a two million drop in viewers from last year.

Cowell even insisted on a change of theme for this week – from Heroes to Rock – prompting a last minute change in songs and frantic production changes behind the scenes.

That’s not going to help matters! Louis Walsh launches astonishing rant at fellow X Factor judges… labelling Gary ‘average’ and Kelly ‘too R&B’
It’s been a tense week for the X factor judges as show supremo Simon Cowell has called for them to up their game in the face of plunging ratings.

And it seems they are starting to take out some of that stress on each other.

No sooner had Gary Barlow slammed Louis Walsh for being ‘too lazy’, than the older judge hit back with some damning remarks on the Take That star- and a few cutting comments on Kelly Rowland for good measure.

You’ve been tangoed! X Factor’s Tulisa arrives for the live show wearing a bit too much make-up
She may be pining for the crown of the nation’s sweetheart as the latest X Factor judge but Tulisa Contostavlos may have gone too far.

Having had a glamorous makeover for the hit TV show, the singer is now known for her designer dressed and sexy style but she hasn’t got it all right.

Arriving at the London studios today for tonight’s live show, the 23-year-old was showing off a rather orange face.

X Factor rejects Nu Vibe have first (and last) taste of fame as they perform with Matt Cardle at G-A-Y
They may have dreamt of scooping the X Factor crown but the closest Nu Vibe got to the title was performing at the same venue as last year’s winner Matt Cardle.

X Factor’s first rejects Bradley Johnson, Jordan Higo, Richard Jeynes-Milford, Ashford Campbell and Stefan Romero took to the stage at G-A-Y last night days after the manufactured group vowed to stay together.

And fellow X Factor finalists Sophie Habibis and Craig Colton popped down to the London nightspot to support their former competition.

X Factor Kitty: I had Botox… to stop me looking so angry!
X Factor contestant Kitty Brucknell has admitted she is having regular Botox injections – to stave off the ageing process and to make her look less angry.

The 26-year-old, who performed Sir Paul McCartney’s Live And Let Die on last night’s rock-themed programme, said she has the £300 injections to prevent deep frown lines in her forehead from developing into permanent features.

Kitty, a former pupil at the £27, 000-a-year Clifton College school in Bristol, fears the lines are accentuated when she sings.

‘I never wanted to fit in … and I still don’t now’: Cher Lloyd on life after X Factor
Although she came fourth in last year’s X Factor, Cher Lloyd has topped the charts, grabbed endless column inches – and polarised opinions in the Twittersphere. So, asks Stuart Husband, is the teenager a pop puppet or a rebellious outsider?

Mind the age gap! One Direction Harry Styles, 17, shares a kiss with Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack, 31
His One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik had a high-profile romance with six years older Rebecca Ferguson.

And it appears Malik isn’t the only member of the band who likes an older woman after Harry Styles, 17, made a move on Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack, 31.

The unlikely pair were said to have enjoyed a cheeky kiss as they partied following last weekend’s X Factor show.
